If that's true then I'm happy obviously, do you have any article that you could link to support it?
What I've seen last year was that 0 countries progressed from their group in Russia that can be considered Muslim. The World Cup started on the last day of Ramadan.

Err... That's maybe because they aren't among the best teams in the World.

Final group standings with FIFA rankings:

Uruguay (7), Russia (48), Saudi Arabia (69), Egypt (56)
Spain (9), Portugal (6), Iran (29), Morocco (40)
France (2), Denmark (10), Peru, Australia
Croatia (4), Argentina (11), Nigeria, Iceland
Brazil (3), Switzerland (8), Serbia, Costa Rica
Sweden (14), Mexico (17), Korea, Germany (16)
Belgium (1), England (5), Tunisia (26), Panama
Colombia (12), Japan (50), Senegal (23), Poland

Didn't qualify: Chile (13), Netherlands (14)

It's not Ramadan - it's not being very good. The largest, richest and most successful countries are in Europe and South America and 15 of the 16 who qualified from the group are from those those associations.

They certainly seem to like ice cream.
Or maybe they don't,  hence the increase in attacks on the ice cream eating beach dwellers.
Why are Muslims eating ice cream on shark infested beaches during Ramadan?

Mate, obviously I did not see that debate.
The last time Ramadan coincided with the important end of the season was more than 30 years ago. I don't know what ways are around the fasting rules, but not drinking and eating during daylight would mean fasting for 15 hours every effing day in May, and I see no way that wouldn't hinder preparation for football matches. Rehydration is essential in every training session. Last year it was mentioned that Salah could 'suspend Ramadan' for two days (the CL final and the day before) because of travel. Otherwise, I am quite ignorant of the exact rules and would very much like to know more. Like, why nobody mentioned Mané?

Like I said it has been mentioned and it was discussed at large. I provided quite several articles about professional athletes being successful whilst fasting. As I mentioned I'd suggest you look for that particular topic or just google athletes and fasting, and you'll have a pretty good idea

Are the options good enough though, Camacho is a kid and didn't look like a natural fullback last night.

We have done fantastic in the league so far but it's clear from the changes us and City made in the cup their squad is much stronger than ours.
Should have kept Clyne.

For RB, it goes Trent, Gomez or Milner, then can pick from one of Camacho, Hoever, Fabinho, possibly play Henderson their also.
For LB it goes Robinson then Moreno or Milner, after that Lewis or play somebody else can play FB on their off side, considering the Fullbacks are the width so it preferable to have left footer their.
Is that Depth not enough?

Henderson at right back, Milner at left back? Why not just play Mo there?

Moreno doesn’t want to be here, and simply isn’t good enough.

Depth of quality, no, potential maybe yes with the young kids. We should have kept Clyne, till the summer anyway. He can play both sides and has the experience, plus quality.

We are reliant on our first choice players remaining fit.

Fair enough. Why would we play a our best goal scorer in a place to provide width
Henderson was clearly low on cover at rb on their for me. Milner played LB after moreno was taken off in burnley, he played their before. however Klopp will prefer a left footer. Moreno can cover vs lower teams, obvious he unlikely to return and will get replaced after the year, I doubt that will be fixed during the middle of the season.
Klopp thought their was enough depth to cover at both spots, you can have a difference of opinion though.

Fair enough, clearly when we are at full strength our defence is strong, that’s proven this season.
When Robbo or Van Dijk aren’t available it’s a problem, Gomez being injured is problematic as like you say he can cover right back also.
Keeping Clyne would have been better, maybe he insisted on leaving, we just lack a bit of quality and experience in reserve.
Moreno will no doubt be replaced in the summer.

I look at the options this year and the options last year, and I'm pretty damn happy. We didn't have great first options on the field, now we do have great options on the bench when everyone's fit. Sure, we have to content with injuries, but that's life. So, for RB we have Trent, then Gomez, we have Fabinho who plays there for Brasil. Milner can fit in for Robbo when needed, and even Albie is not that bad now and then, whether he's ready to play or not.

Sure, we're not the finished article, but we're far better than we were last year. And we weren't that bad then.

When it coincides with the twice monthly African Nations Cup, it's acceptable.

That is the general attire during that time.
Mankinis
But this is the preferred name.

If there is a silver lining to getting knocked out of the domestic cups, it's that our focus becomes more streamlined.
I think in time we'll have the squad depth to compete in so many competitions whilst still maintaining momentum, but it looks like we've just about built a strong starting team and bench that can compete for a league title and make some headway in Europe, anything else becomes an additional risk for injuries and distractions.
We seem to really bounce back well from losses over the current and past season, so I think these past two losses won't just keep our players focused and more determined, the additional bonus is the media can get off our bandwagon and allow us to quietly go about our business. It's been slightly annoying since around mid December reading and watching the over the top hype about our "sudden" title challenge. In reality, it was City that dropped away, but we've been consistently picking up points since the start of the year, and that's what we'll keep doing. We haven't been in a rich vein of form, it's just we've been patient and strong enough to keep clean sheets and score decisive goals.
Feels very different than our run in the 2013-14 season.
The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.

With no domestic cup to worry about we can fully concentrate on the title and CL now. Meanwhile, City are still in all four competition, I hope they go deep in all the cups route and injury, fatigue, match preparation, travel time, etc. will become a matter for them in the title race.

Their draws for semi final or the League Cup and CL are pretty straight forwards but you still have to play the games and anything can happen.

Its clear that our desperation for the title makes us much more willing than any other team to sacrifice everything else to give us a slight advantage.

Ill admit to being a slight bedwetter at the moment, but as has been said to get this monkey off our back and win the title would change the whole outlook from the club.

Obviously the players and all the league know how desperate the whole club is to win it, so much so that it doesn't even feel like City want to win it for themselves, they want to win it so we don't. Even if Spurs somehow won it I still think the focus would be  on that we didn't.

The Brighton game will be a huge indicator of the teams mental state and will shift how City will view us, they have their tails up and we need to put a dominant, convincing performance against Brighton to show them we aren't going away

Whilst not overly bothered with the result last night, the performance of some of the fringe players irked me a bit. That's for another time though.

We've clearly put all our chips on the Premier League title, and it's important we now take three points in the Brighton game.

We've essentially created our own winter break with 10 days between games at the end of January as Spurs and City play two extra competitions. I'm sure we'll use the time for a warm weather break to rest and prepare for the second part of the campaign

Wind back a week or so ago and a lot of us were talking about this sort of scenario whereby we would have to face a situation where we might not get a good result or two and its all about the reaction.

Well thats where we are like it or not...

The reaction for the 2 setbacks we've had in the last week will show what this team is capable of this season. Its all well and good explaining away the games and how they happened in context but if it gets to the 60 minute mark and its 0-0 vs Brighton, hesitation is creeping in and frustration I want to see the team press on to get the winner and be relentless in its approach.

We have had a blip, losing twice on the bounce whoever was out on the field. Pundits and rival fans are lapping this up and hoping for it to to go  deeper.

So the lads and manager have said numerous times its one game at a time and they will not lose focus. That will be tested this weekend for sure. But its not something we should be fearing, I WANT to see the reaction and I cannot wait until the weekend for the reds to show me what I think I already know about them.....that they are a fucking good team that will not let a bad week make them shit the bed.

If we lose again or draw we aim to put it right after Brighton.

Nothin is won in January but for the position we are in nothing will be lost either. Lets do this

Agreed, if we win against Brighton I think everyone will be more relaxed (bad choice of word, but will at least calm things down a little).

Brighton has lost its way a bit since the start of the season. And after that we have two home games in a row. So, that's three games to build back that aura of invincibility. Believe!
