Leeds are rumoured to want him on loan until the end of the season.

Think Klopp wants him to stay now though but I think a loan to Leeds would be a great loan if the he is becoming frustrated due to lack of playing time.

Would be great for him to learn under Bielsa for 6 months and be part of a promotion push under a lot of pressure.

I think we have to keep him here given the injuries. Maybe he can go at the end of Jan if we look in better shape. I think he may be just about ready to play as a rotation option in the midfield. We could do with as many bodies as possible for the midfield at the moment. Be nice to have him off the bench at 70 in games where we are comfortably ahead rather than risk one of the senior pros.

I think if all our midfielders are due to be fit by end of the winter break then Jones can go out on loan. But nothing should go through until after the West Ham game on the 29th.

Wouldn't it take 2/3 more injuries and no one coming back for him to start a premier league game?

I guess it’s probably difficult motivationally for the lad after scoring a goal like that vs Everton in the 3rd round of the FA Cup in front of 54000 people to go back to playing at a much lower standard in front of a handful of people. Especially if he feels (rightly or wrongly) he should be playing a bigger part in the first team.

Realistically with everyone returning to fitness he’s only likely to play FA Cup matches and possibly the odd game as a late sub, so perhaps if he’s frustrated a loan to someone like Leeds after our 4th round tie isn’t a bad idea.
He’s clearly a big talent for the future with us, we don’t want that stagnating.

In the league, probably unlikely to start unless it is against relegation fodder at home and we need to rest people. Would still be minded to keep him just in case. Milner, Keita, Ox and Fabinho have all had knocks and may not be ready as soon as we would like. I wouldn't let him go anywhere until the very end of Jan personally.

Can't say I'm a fan of loans, but Leeds under Bielsa is one of the few I think would actually benefit him greatly. As said above, it must be hard for him to go back playing reserve football now. That's a winning penalty in a shootout and a winning goal in a derby now, with a few decent displays in the first team to go with them. A loan with regular playing time might help keep up the momentum.

Playing under Bielsa would be perfect for him.  Join them this month then stay with them next year in the Prem.  He'd likely get a ton of minutes and would come back ready to play in the 1st team.

Keep him at Anfield.  Plenty of opportunities to give him game time either as a sub in the second half or from the start against weaker opposition if we are home and dried.  Let’s see how he plays with a full strength team around him.

With Shaqiri going in the summer, he takes that spot in the squad for me. Should probably play a greater role in the second half of this season too. Never seems to disappoint whenever he's given a chance.

Sorry been offline a bit recently.... Is that right? Shaqiri is going?

Unlikely to get regular football at Leeds anyway. Top of the league so they're not going to change things round.

Our bench? Yes I agree.

If he thinks he’s good enough for a bigger role in our first team, he should be good enough to fight his way into Leeds plans

Nope. Just that wierdo tendency some of our fans have of constantly selling off our players in their minds and claiming it a fait accompli in these threads.

I swear that some fans' principal interest seems to be getting rid of our players; saying X is going to leave, Y will have to leave, Z has no future here, over and over again, regardless of what the club or manager has said.

Sturridge, Mignolet and Moreno were sold off in these threads years before they finally left. Origi was sold off by many years ago - and yet he's still here and more settled than ever. Again and again they get it wrong and yet they just don't learn. Currently Lallana and Shaqiri are in their sights, pretty much gone, if you believe what they say.

I think that Curtis Jones will become regular in the side around mid-April, if not even earlier. We will by then win the league and we will focus on the CL and FA Cup. We will play the senior players to keep them sharp, but there will be not exceptional exertion. Thus, a few young players will see regular game time. I'm sad the Rihan is not going to be one of them, but Curtis is. So is Neco. This will be the time to shape the youngsters in a form that will be used next season.

Could he be the real deal? God I hope so. Imagine two Scousers in our team.

And then we have Harvey Elliott, Neco Williams etc who look like they have a shot to make the big time.

The swagger on Jones and Elliott is simply beautiful.

He’s 18 let’s not put too much pressure on him. Can’t see klopp using him much in the league unless it’s won. He won’t use him in the champions league unless a tie is over. He’ll play the next round of the cup as it’ll be the same team as Sunday. People do get ahead of themselves.

Keep him and develop him when the league is won. Those extra games will be invaluable to him in terms of his development and I suspect he'd relish playing at Anfield again.

Bielsa's teams tire and pick up injuries later in the season. He'd get his chances, if he took it he'd keep his place.

It's up to Klopp whether he stays.

Judging by what Klopp said when interviewed about Brewster going to Swansea, he doesn’t see any reason for Curtis or any of the other remaining youngsters in and around the first team to go out on loan.
So we get to see if he can get a few more games this season, and hopefully he doesn’t get too impatient.
