I have a tag heuer 'aquaracer' beautiful timepiece but quite expensive e.g they wanted £35 for a new battery officially waterproofed and all that...
::)

I know these guys, their shop is in Sale http://www.brinksjewellers.com/Watches.htm you can buy online I believe.

Ive tried some of their Breil stuff, dress watches I guess you'd call them, and not too expensive (depending on your POV).

Think the Tag Heuer Carrera is the nicest watch I've seen but they're more than £1500. Don't think I'll ever be flush enough to spend that much on a watch but if I ever win the lottery going to get me one of these bad boys, prefer a leather strap myself but the metal also looks fantastic.

Until then this Accurist one will do, they have some nice watches for around the £100 mark. It's not a great photo, looks better up close but you can see where they get their design ideas from  ;)

If you prefer digital you can always follow Rafa's lead :)

if yr gonna buy a tag,get one from a store in america and it'll save u a fortune.when we were over in florida my cousin got one for 750 and back home its worth 1300. you can order them online so its not as if the extra 550 is for yr flight over :)

But customs may fuck you up right?

Or can you wrap it in wrapping paper and say it's a "gift"

btw...mate brought a replica watch.

Told him "WhyTF did you pay 150 quid for a fake watch"

"it's not fake, it's a replica" was his response. ???

From the site

" Due to the fact that these Rolex replica Timepieces are identical in every way, the buyer must agree not to re-sell these Rolex replica Timepieces as Genuine."

but...

"None of these watches carry the warranty, nor the parts, of the original manufacturers. All of our products are replicas and are meant for entertainment & novelty purposes only"

i.e. cheap parts that will break in a few days

Also Armani watches are designed by Fossil (so the guy in the fossil stores tell me), so if your should need a battery go to the fossil store rather than the armani place

Handy to know (if correct, and the guy at Fossil wasn't just trying to get you to buy one of their watches over an Armani).

In the price bracket you're looking at Festina would be my recommendation - loads of choice as well.

Well if that's the type you're after you should look no further than Storm, should find something around the £100 mark.

I may be going next spring to New York but not deffo atm..... otherwise don't know anyone stateside :(

that watch is nice though..... is it bulky?
No it's surprisingly slim.  It has a nice sapphire crystal, and is tough.

NYC is a great place to get a watch, just go to the jewelry district (47th and 6th I think).   There are so many vendors so you get a really competative price.  Pay cash and you can save tax.

If you wear it on the plane, then customs will never know right?

Nah, deffo true as on the counter it said something along the lines of "we replace batteries for...", and Armani was one of them

I have a ladies Omega Seamaster. I love it. Also have a Jaeger LeCoultre for fancy dress ups. Love it as well. But the Omega is scratch proof, water proof and nearly damage proof. Not extremely expensive, but still a bit costly. Well worth it though. Should last me until I die.

Went to Southport the other week and had a good nose in all the watch shops on Lord Street, some really nice ones there.

I'm currently wearing a 25 year old Pulsar watch, and I've got another cheap sports watch that I bought in France a couple of years ago and the strap is now held on with an elastic band.

Dead posh me.

I have a Vestal watch, got it 3 years ago for my 18th. Had to get it shipped from Canada at the time.

I'm not a fan of metal-strapped watches. I've got a nice Ben Sherman piece, rectangular with a brown leather strap that's so well worn it smells of vinegar. Great watch, though.

Thinking of getting a retro Casio digital to wear through the summer, take me back to the good old days.

or a fob watch is becoming and a handsome alternative to the large and unwieldy timepieces gentlemen wear. Usually gentlemen who are in need of a diving watch with a split stopwatch and chronograph like a hamster needs a lawn mower.
Yep.
