GOAL Motherwell 2-3 Rangers

Ovie Ejaria

Rangers mount a sweeping move on the counter attack and Borna Barisic feeds Ovie Ejaria, whose curling shot is only partially blocked by Trevor Carson with the ball bouncing over the line.

It's Ejaria's first goal since joining Rangers on loan from Liverpool.
There was a two-minute interlude where Liverpool’s three-man attack squared up against United’s three-man defence and basically stalked them back into their own penalty area, like battle-hardened mountain wolves closing in on a flock of geriatric sheep.  Barney Ronay at Anfield @barneyronay Sun 19 Jan 2020 20.36 GMT

Only been watching the Rangers came for about 15-20 minutes but Ejaria is showing good movement and scored a goal. Looks good so far. Actually quite an exciting match to be watching if you're bored.

This week Arroyo has come back from Mallorca B and gone to join Gent on loan instead, joining up with Awoniyi there. Karius 2 year loan to Beşiktaş which will become permanent if he plays enough games, and Randall has moved down to League One to join Rochdale.

Harry Wilson - Derby - Missed out again with injury as Derby won 2-0 at home to Preston. Seem to have put the couple of bad results they had behind them now. They are up against Hull (who Wilson was on loan with last season) twice over the next week, once in the League Cup and once in the league, both away. Mason Bennett has been playing in Wilson's place and seems to be a fan favourite there judging from twitter.
Ovie Ejaria - Rangers - Put in a man of the match performance as Rangers beat Ufa 1-0 in the Europa League, and followed that up with his first goal for them in a 3-3 draw away at Motherwell in the league. They took him off leading 3-2 in the 92nd minute and conceded about 30 seconds later. Both him and Kent (and Gerrard) still unbeaten after 11 games. Link to goal - https://twitter.com/RangersGoaIs/status/1033690194820644865
Ryan Kent - Rangers - Played 78 minutes in the win against Ufa, looked threatening at times and put in a shift but quietened down as the game went on. Was on the bench against Motherwell and didn't get on.
Taiwo Awoniyi - Gent - Started and played 75 minutes as Gent drew 0-0 at home with Bordeaux in the Europa League, the second leg of the tie is on Thursday night. They're also at home to Lokeren later today.
Anderson Arroyo - Gent - Wasn't signed in time to be registered for the Europa League game but could possibly feature later today against Lokeren. Gent's right back situation is pretty interesting, Thomas Foket played there for them the entirety of last season and also the beginning of this season, although he is naturally a right midfielder. Hopefully they move him back to midfield and Arroyo can get a run of games.
Allan - Frankfurt - Didn't make the squad as Frankfurt began their league campaign with a 2-0 win away at Freiburg.
Shamal George - Tranmere - On the bench as Tranmere's good start to the season continued with a 1-0 win at home to Port Vale.
Adam Bogdan - Hibernian - Returned to the team and played the full 90 of Hibernian's 1-1 home draw with Aberdeen.
Ben Woodburn - Sheffield Utd - Came on for the final 5 minutes of Sheffield Utd's 3-0 away win at Bolton.
Herbie Kane - Doncaster - A second consecutive 0-0 draw for Doncaster with Kane completing another 90 minutes.
Danny Ings - Southampton - Another loss for Southampton, this time 2-1 at home to Leicester. Ings played 70 minutes.
Marko Grujic - Hertha Berlin - Came on for the final 2 minutes of Hertha's 1-0 win at home to Nurnberg to make his debut. Their manager spoke very well of him - "Marko #Grujic has made a very good first impression. He might be in the squad, might even be in the starting line-up. I'm still thinking about it."
Connor Randall - Rochdale - Not yet in the squad.
Loris Karius - Beşiktaş - Not yet in the squad.

Starting mainly I’d say

But if rotation due to qualifiers but think he’s a starter

Gent won 2-1 at home today to Lokeren, Awoniyi dropped to the bench and came on for the final 22 minutes. Arroyo not in the squad, this game probably came too soon for him

Thanks, chaps! That loan would do him good then if he keeps playing regularly and hopefully stays injury-free.

Ejaria just scored for Rangers in their Europa League qualifier - his second in 2 games. Great start to his loan spell so far.

Great performance from both Ejaria and Kent that. Obviously the goal from Ejaria but both he and Kent combined a few times to catch Ufa on the counter attack in the second half when Rangers were down to 10 and 9 men, and continued to put the shift in to get the team over the line. Into the group stages now. Ejaria's goal - https://twitter.com/LFCroundup/status/1035169029575663616

Taiwo Awoniyi starting for Gent against Bordeux. One nil down. Would be great if Gent can get in as it will help him get a permit.

Ejaria still looks very raw. More raw than Grujic. Hopefully working with Stevie over the next 9 months will smooth out some of the kinks. At the moment he still doesn't quite look like he has the arrogance to break through for a big team. But he's got two goals in two games now. If he can go on a run, maybe we'll see a more confident player emerge at the other end that's ready to play some games for us.

Rangers fans were really sceptical at first, but some even suggesting he's the best midfield player in Scotland.

he's been pretty central all game, although he may have popped up wide a couple times! Cerainly did 2nd half to make a great defensive play on the right.

He gave away a mad penalty first half  :o  But apart from that, all good! He's certainly not looking out of place at all.

Grujic played the full game today, and was on the winning side, impressive 0-2 victory away at Schalke.

Wheras he wasn't a stand-out, it was a good display (apart from the peno he gave away  ;D ).   His passing was pretty spot on, kept it safe most of the time. But moved the ball quite well. Made a couple good defensive plays too.

He wouldn't even get near out bench this season I  would think hence why he was loaned out.

No I agree guess just making the point we loaned him to play. No value sitting on the bench. He needs competitive games, regardless what level. Hopefully he’ll force his way in

Harry Wilson - Derby - Missed out for a fifth game in a row with an injury, although he has been included in the Wales squad. Quote on his fitness “I think Tom Huddlestone is pushing, Harry Wilson is still not close enough, and nor is Curtis Davies, but they are all improving."
Ovie Ejaria - Rangers - Played the full game as Rangers were beaten 1-0 away at Celtic.
Ryan Kent - Rangers - Was subbed off after 87 mins in the same defeat.
Taiwo Awoniyi - Gent - Played an hour in Gent's 2-0 loss away at Bordeaux which eliminated them from the Europa League, wasn't in the squad for Gent's 3-0 win away at Brugge, not sure if injury or just rotation.
Anderson Arroyo - Gent - Wasn't registered for the Europa game and not in the squad for the win at Brugge.
Allan - Frankfurt - Frankfurt lost 2-1 at home to Bremen, Allan wasn't in the squad.
Shamal George - Tranmere - Continued on the bench as Tranmere drew 1-1 away at Northampton.
Adam Bogdan - Hibernian - Full 90 in Hibs' 2-1 loss at Livingston.
Ben Woodburn - Sheffield Utd - Sheff Utd's early form continued with a 4-1 win at home to Villa, Woodburn was an unused sub.
Herbie Kane - Doncaster - Another 90 mins for Kane as Doncaster became the first side to stop Peterborough from winning, with a 1-1 draw away from home.
Marko Grujic - Hertha Berlin - As posted above Grujic started and played the whole game in Hertha's 2-0 win at Schalke, he gave a pen away for a handball in the first half which was missed.
Connor Randall - Rochdale - Not in match day squad.
Loris Karius - Beşiktaş - Made his debut in a 1-1 draw away at Bursapor. Doesn't cover himself in glory for the goal, also picked up a yellow for time wasting.
Corey Whelan - Crewe - Not in the squad yet.
Sheyi Ojo - Reims - They were beaten 1-0 at home by Montpellier, Ojo came on for his debut in the 78th minute.

Aside from Ejaria everybody has gotten off to pretty quiet starts so far

That's exactly what we need from his loan. Playing full games in the Bundesliga. He'll gain a ton of experience against top opposition. Encouraging news.

Hertha fans seem quite pleased with him too after today, very early days of course, but they are hoping that Grujic, Ondrej Duda and Arne Maier, an 18 year old home grown player who's started their first 2 games, can become a real good unit for them in midfield this season. And should be a considerable improvment on what they had last season.

Turns out our Karius has a bad habit of sending several messages to women he’d like to meet. Some turkish models actually showed his PM’s in Instagram to media and it caused some headache in Beşiktaş already. Ffs he came to Turkey less than a week ago and already all those messages? I thought he moved to Liverpool with his gf at the time.
