Who's ready to have absolutely no social life once again?

This is released in just over 6 weeks time on October 22nd, and I'm absolutely amazed that it's not top of every pre-order chart there is. I don't think I've ever been this excited about a game before in my life!

The full trailer is out now, I'd embed it if I could. Looks fucking amazing.

Is it just me who's massively excited?
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Considering Fallout 3 was pretty much the best game ever made I'm surprised there aren't more people on here discussing this.

Brand new game. Basically Fallout 4.

It's a new game with the same engine, I think. So the graphics etc are the same

Yeah, it should play exactly as well as Fallout 3, which is why it's going to be fucking ace.

It is indeed a problem. Once this game comes out I know it will consume my social life just like the last one did. Not that I'm compaining. ;D

After having and loving fallout 3 I got the dlc for it, and left it for ages as I had other games to play. Fallout is a game that once you start it you can't do anything else. A few weeks back I started it again and 100% it, which I'm really pleased with. Ready for New Vegas now!

Great thread, been waiting for it. I "discovered" Fallout 3 by accident last summer, never heard of it before. I don`t know why, but it`s the most fascinating game I`ve ever played! I loved all the DLCs too, especially Point Lookout!

I picked up Fallout 3 last year and never really got into it, so traded it in.  A friend at work constantly goes on about it so I thought I'd pick it up again and see what the fuss was about.  I got the GOTY edition for Ł15 about a week ago and along with Demon's Souls it's keeping MW2 and FIFA off my system.  I was on it until 3:00am this morning, had to be in work at 9.  I might have to bury it somewhere just so I can get some sleep.

What I really hope will be the biggest improvement over Fallout 3 is the way Obsidian should deliver in writing/quests/characters area of the game. Not to say it was bad, but Fallout 3 was a bit thin in those areas. If they manage to make some more memorable NPC's and quests while improving on already excellent shooting mechanics it will be AMAZING. Preorder for me, no doubt about it.

Apparently once you've completed the game you can't free roam, which is a bit weird and probably unnecessary.

So you'll have to make sure you don't complete it before getting all of the achievements or you'll just have to start it all over again to get them.

Can't imagine it possible, to be honest.  They're usually pretty good about when they send out the freebies.  I do a good deal of volunteer work for Bethesda Softworks, and I've never received a copy of a game before launch (not that I'm complaining! I haven't had to buy a Bethsoft game since Dagerfall!).  I suppose if you aren't dealing with the folks in Maryland though, you'll stand a better chance.

Try to get yourself some swag too though.  They usually make some nice stuff!

Can you carry over your Fallout 3 character over to this?

Hmm, just read a bit more about this and it seems it's not a proper sequel, more of a 'side game' and Bethesda's reportedly working on their own in-house Fallout 4.

So basically a large DLC that they are charging full wack for?

Doesn't sound like a side game or a DLC at all to me. If you watch that video above they more or less claim as much. This is just as big as Fallout 3 was, so I don't see how it's not a brand new game.

Well it is a side game if Bethseda are currently making Fallout 4, which makes me less excited about this.

Anyway, I'm mainly sceptical about it being developed by Obsidian who's recent record is average at best and their games always feel a bit rushed/incomplete, as the Fallout 3 engine was buggy as hell anyway it doesn't really inspire confidence.

I mean I'll probably still pick this up once the reviews are out and I really hope they can improve stuff like the map and the annoying roadblocks in the cities.

I see where you're coming from, but this IS a stand alone game, not a side game. The map and missions will apparently take just as long to get around and complete as Fallout 3, and because it's using the same engine I can't see how it will be rushed at all. It's basically going to play exactly the same as F3 but with a different setting and storyline.

If Bethesda are developing Fallout 4 then that's fantastic too, but I'd imagine it'll be a new engine and a completely separate story.
