A bad mood and/or general apathy in regards to life at the moment. That, or demons.

Fair enough.  Have a good weekend.

Was class for us IMO, him and Suarez would have been brilliant together.

Torres is lucky he's got a mate at the club because he looked better when Yossi was playing. I say "better", but I mean he had more chances to fluff.

For those that don't know:

Yossi scored for Chelsea in a pre-season game a couple of days ago. He used the back of his foot to knock the ball over his head and over the advancing keeper to score and everyone was mentioning it on Twitter/YouTube/Facebook/everywhere. Did you not see it? It was a cracking goal, are you sure you didn't see it? Everyone was raving about it. You're sure? Okay. Well it was a great goal. Knocked it over the keeper he did with his heel. A wonder goal everyone was saying, like, everyone. Really hard to miss it. It was on SSN quite a lot as well. How did you miss it?

Let me extend my gratitude from the whole of RAWK for posting that for the people that missed it.

Benny will be moved on from there soon IMO, Torres went from one rebuilding club who have already started the rebuild, to one who need to start but can't be arsed.

Cracking goal, lucky as it was.

Not as good as Fulham away though. Love that goal still even though it all came to nothing

What makes you think that? I'm not too familiar with how AVB sets his teams up but Yossi is one of the flare players who looked the most effective towards the end of the season, as easy as it seemed among the knackered players he played with.

His age.

Although he can still create some moments of magic, Abramovich makes all the changes there, not the manager.

If they do a clear out of the older squad players then Yossi will be gone IMO.

I guess I can see it happening next summer, it all depends on how they react to the FFP and how much money Abromovich is willing to spend to replace the players that need replacing. If he has a good season and manages to set up Abromovich's golden boy a few times then it might buy him a little longer. Last season, Yossi looked like the only one who could/would set him up.

We need video evidence otherwise you're a lying git!

;)

Also, different doing it in a match to doing it in your back garden ect, especially since Yossi had 3-4 defenders around him.

I thought he really loved being with us, but I guess the Torres saga is enough evidence of what money can do to a modern day player. He scored some vital goals for us, a pity this one didn't mean more:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/wC4fhemDd98" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/wC4fhemDd98</a>

I thought the celebration meant he was one of us. Lucky I've never posted in the body language/player analysis threads.

He's a very good player. I remember watching a few West Ham matches and hoping Rafa signed him one day because of his footwork. He did well for us overall. Shame he is at Chelsea now, they've got a very effective player if they need him to start a few matches or play him of the bench which looks more likely. Can't blame him or anyone for leaving due to the state of us at the time.

Another example of reckless spending by Rafa as they say...

Seriously though, as important as Luis Garcia was in our run to Istanbul and Cardiff, I have always felt that Yossi was a better player. Criminally underrated. I always have fond memories of his double during the 4-4 against Arsenal, his assist for Torres at Stamford bridge in the 08 C/L semi, his goal in Madrid, and the last minute winner at Craven Cottage.

And I love his chant too.

i think he left at the right time, good of the bench but irritated me when he started, for all the nice assists was alot of very obvious attempted slipped balls easily intercepted by defenders.

can't forget his goal away to wigan though

Been subject to some anti-semitic abuse by some morons in Malaysia during Chelsea's pre-season

Quote
Chelsea have complained to the Malaysian FA about what they believe was racist abuse directed at Yossi Benayoun during last week's friendly.

The 31-year-old Israeli was jeered each time he touched the ball in a match against a Malaysian XI on 21 July.

Chelsea said: "We believe Yossi was subjected to anti-semitic abuse by a number of supporters at the game.

"Such behaviour is offensive, totally unacceptable and has no place in football," added a club statement.

Agency reports from the match in Kuala Lumpur said the abuse directed at Benayoun - one of the few Israelis to have played in Malaysia, a country which does not recognise Israel - was anti-semitic.
