Absolutley gutted for Craig, he is a true gentleman with a heart of gold. Seeing things like this makes you realise that life goes beyond football, I hope he gets through this turbulent time in his life- he deserves it for all the good he has done for other people.

Only two seasons at the Club, but one of my all time favourite players. I respect Craig loads, love him.

Hope he finds peace one day and he can get back to how it was with his family. Sad situation for everyone.  :(

Testament to how much of a true pro he is. Always gave 100% and at the Olympics he was fantastic. Can completely understand why he had to move to Cardiff now (I mean I understood anyway but I  had wanted him to see out the other year). Family is the most important thing.

There are things bigger than football, and this is one of them. Absolutely gutted for the man, hope he's taking some time off on purpose to try and get his head straight and hopefully he can reconcile with his family. As I said, this is more important than football.

Poor guy is going through a terrible time, really puts things into perspective. Footballers are people too, everyone who can just laugh off the very idea that footballers have problems should be made to have a read of what Craig's going through. Hope he manages to get through this, YNWA.

It's good to know that we live in a community that can discuss these things now without resorting to antiquated views like "but he's minted, what's he got to worry about?" and "he just needs to go out and blow off some steam".  Hopefully that is the very thin silver lining around the big black cloud that was Gary Speed's death.

Been a great professional and will always be a true red at heart. A massive fan. That game at home to City in the league cup was probably his defining memeory in the red shirt.

Best of luck to him, a very under rated player who always gave 100% and wore his heart on his sleeve. Never backed down from a big occasion (or a fight).

Hope he goes into punditry or management, football will be worse off without him

His autobiography is one of the very few football related books I actually enjoyed.

He is a nutter for sure, but he is our nutter and seems like a nice bloke as well when he is not of his rocker.
Quality player too. Shame about all the injurys.

One of the most underrated players of his generation. Hope he isn't lost to the game.

Given the general standard of punditry - particularly ITV's uninspiring bunch of coma-inducers, his bluntness and recent experience would add something refreshing.

Gave us great memories - the Charity Shield, Barca game, City at home - mesmerising, Everton in the Semi, and many more - can only wish the lad all the best.

I'll also miss him basically calling John Terry out as a c*nt whenever he could - would love him to go into punditry and be a refreshing change from the generic staid safe stuff on tv at the moment :)
