This whole Sky Q thing is beginning to piss me off. When I renewed my contract 2 months ago I was quoted £200 for the 1TB box plus a mini box for multiroom and I told them I was happy with what I had at the rate I was paying. You can now see new customers getting offers of 1TB Q box plus mini box for a £20 fee vs. the £200 I was quoted. They'll be getting a phone call in the next few days off me

That's annoying, I see that a lot with BT where they will offer new customers great deals yet not repeat those for the one's who have been with them for years!

If anyone's close to renewing remember that it's nearly Christmas and I get a load of discount vouchers for dirt cheap subs normally 30 quid all in. I'd rather them go to RAWK users than waste them on friends of friends of friends. I'll let you know when the deal goes live again.
Is this for new customers only mate?

I am ringing around atm,BT is due to run out on the 3rd Nov and they quoted me £52 just for fibre and bt sports with anytime phone.Need to sign up with another and see what BT offer then. What is all in with those vouchers ?  If it is decent and you could throw one my way I may stay with BT until they go live but when would that be ?

I have been with Sky for seventeen years now. I've had the Sky+HD Box for the last few years, but have just had a succession of problems with them. I live right by the river so we get a lot of bad weather, so the signalling goes down quite often. I would have been happier with another Sky+ Box but they are not interested they just want people to take the Q box now. So I thought okay but you are going to give me a reduced bill before I say yes to it. So they gave me a load of goodies as well as a reduced bill, I'm on an 18 month contract with it. To be honest if Virgin came into the area I would probably go to them, but at there moment they're not.

Assuming nothing has changed from the past 5 years, you get all Sports channels, Entertainment, all Sky Cinema and all Box Sets. The only thing you don't get is Sky Q, which is an extra £12 on top, I think.

Can't promise a time, but it's normally late November so it can be installed well before Christmas.

I have set the ball rolling with TalkTalk, mainly to get BT to sort their shit out but TalkTalk have agreed to unlimited fibre, anytime calls including calls to mobiles and a mobile sim for £28.50 a month.

I can obviously back out of it but the last time BT acted like twats I signed up for Sky and BT rang the next day and gave me BTsportHD anytime calls and unlimited fibre for £26 a month. They offered me the same on Monday for £52pm the cheeky bstards and if I do move BT said that I can keep my email for £5pm.

They really got my back up.

Yeah, but you can always biff your subscription and sign up with someone else's name in the house.

They wouldn't let me do that last time, said it would have to be set up after a 30 day grace period, is that true?

Just got sky Q installed today, did the usual blag of thinking of going to virgin or BT about 3 weeks ago,and the price staying the same for 18 months, got the installation, 1TB  box and Mini box all for free.

I thought i still had my sky channels in HD (sky sports package which includes all other sky channels are in SD now, never bothered with the sky movie package)now i have to call them to get them upgraded to HD. :butt

Upgrading my sky sports package is going to be an extra £6 a month which isn't so bad as i just browsed some forums,i just wish SKY wasn't so shady to hide that fact when i was on the phone to them for about 30 minutes when i was doing my blag. :D

Loving the remote control mic/voice feature.

No specific BT Sport thread but I assume we all got the offer from the clubs mailing list for 6 months free, we're on a rolling monthly contract with BT, reckon they'd switch us on to that deal? Anyone done similar, I know they were doing something like this last year.

I told them in the summer when I re-signed up to sky sports and paying £20 odd a month I wasn't paying £6 extra for HD when HD has been around for about 10 years now!! managed to get them to give me the HD Sky Sports for £2 a month extra

not sure if this is the right place, the scum are sponsoring sky sports news now. Was either side of the adverts. Not sure if it's all day or at certain times. Hope they haven't used an outline of a Liverpool players celebration.

I decided to go with it, mainly because I was craving to see some Champion's League footie. Six months free as you say, enjoyed the chances of watching some German football too. Enjoying seeing our new signing.  :wave

I have just had my new Q Box fitted. Impressions are quite favourable early doors, I haven't found any problems getting used the new set up. In fact I think its quite good and its just nice to have a system that works as normal once more. The engineer was not impressed with the guy who had fit the cables before though, but hopefully any problems with those has now been corrected.

Hope someone on here can help...I'm drowning in this mess... and the Sky website isn't helping either...
Anyway, I have a Sky+HD Box connected to my dish. I do not connect to the broadband. I have Variety with Sports £59.50, and Sky+HD pack £12.
I wish to downgrade to only Sky Sports. Can I do this... and will I still be able to get some of the other channels like Sky News, Sky Sports News, and the domestic channels like BBC1 and ITV? Ive tried, but I just cant find the info. cheers.

EDIT... I don't want a sky q box either.

Hi mate, just seen it now. Sorry for missing it - got caught between a couple of other PM conversations.

Got the Christmas offers through:

£10 for the Entertainment bundle
£20 for the Box Sets bundle - Entertainment and all Box Sets
£30 for Box Sets, Sky Cinema and Entertainment
£40 for the complete package - Sports, Films, Box Sets and entertainment.

As per I get 10 to give out (think Owens is going to have one) - PM me your email address if you want one. Money's better in your pockets than anyone else's.

Caveat, I think these normally have to be new accounts so sign up in your partner's name if you already have Sky.
Sent you a PM again mate. How long are the deals for at those prices?

Hi mate, if you remember you gave me a code just before they expired last time.  Unfortunately I had some problems with already being signed up and was scared off about using my partner's name.  In general does that always work out ok?

Think Owens has just done it and the fella down my road has just done it also. Obviously it's whatever you feel comfortable with and I wouldn't want to infer what was right or wrong. lots of people do do it though.

I tired to do it last year and was told it couldn't be done due to the fact it was the same address and there was still an active (although in the 30day cancelation period) account at the address.

Asking for a friend.

They're with Sky for TV/BB and Phone. They're on BB unlimited, but max line speed is 2mb, so I've told her to fuck it off.

She wants to go with BT and get their fibre. Having a look on the sky website, she doesn't actually need to contact Sky, just sign up with BT and they cancel with Sky.

Is this correct? And also do BT take over the phone aswell?

Just contact BT they'll do everything and yes they'll take the phone line too if that's what they want.

I’d also suggest doing it online through either Quidco or Topcashback as there’s usually around £50 - £100 cashback for Broadband/Phone packages.

Yep, realistically you aren't likely to get significant speed differences between BT and Sky on either ADSL or fibre, the big difference will be whether you are actually on Fibre or ADSL, see what Sky offer you for fibre pricing and you can use that to haggle elsewhere if you want.

Yeah £80 cashback. One of the first things I checked  :D

Sky are looking £99 for the hub I believe. Didn't see any cost with BT apart from delivery. So saving £90 + the £80 cashback, and also a £100 pre paid card with BT means Sky can go fuck themselves  ;D

I'm going to signing up to Sky TV in the next few days. They have a referral scheme where both referrer and joiner get £50 (http://www.sky.com/shop/bundles-offers/introduceafriend/ ). As I don't know anyone else that has Sky TV, I thought this would be a good place to see if a fellow red would like to benefit?

Just checking you have paired it with your main box and it is also linked to your wifi?

You can check this by going to Settings, and making sure both Connection to Sky Q Box and Network Settings both have the tick next to them!
