As always, Klopp is right. Change is good and all cycles must come to an end. It would have been heart-breaking to lose Jurgen under negative circumstances and he has picked the right time to call time on his Liverpool career. Going into next season, running on empty would have been a terrible decision. He was brave enough to make the correct call.
I knew nothing about Slot, but I know a bit about Edwards and his new team. I very much trust the process, and if Slot is the man, then that's good enough for me. Slot and the new set-up gets 100% from me from day one. I won't spend a second doubting him or his appointment until he's had long enough to implement his strategy and built up a relationship with the squad.
I like what I've read, and the testaments are all glowing. He's is respected highly by anyone that's worked with him. He's clearly has a smart football brain, but personality, empathy and a high EQ were all pre-requisites for me, particularly having to follow Klopp. It seems he has these traits in spades, which is more than likely why he has been picked over the likes of Amorim.
Welcome Arne.
