+ Ozan Kabak, First LFC Interview:

"Thank you very much. I feel so, so happy, and excited also. Such a great club like Liverpool. I want to show myself, I want to play.
I'm looking forward to getting some minutes and some wins with this amazing club."

"It was so, so busy because it was the last days of the transfer period. We had limited time and it just happened, Schalke and Liverpool had a conversation and an agreement.
Finally I'm here. I'm so happy to be here, the most important thing is I'm here right now."

"Liverpool was my childhood team. So I always wanted to come to this club, to play at this amazing stadium, in front of these amazing fans.
So it's a dream for me. Now the dream comes true."
It's there to remind our lads who they're playing for and to remind the opposition who they're playing against!

He gets positively giddy when talking about Virgil and the prospects of playing with him - really idolises him.

With Virg focusing on rehab, I think it would be good for him to take up some sort of mentoring role for these guys who have just come in.

No better CB to learn from in the planet.

Welcome, babeh. I hope he loves English breakfast.  :)

I wonder if there's an English breakfast for the muslim lads, with turkey bacon or something? I would assume no-one on the team is allowed a full English anyway though lol.

He comes across as pretty Keane...

Got the feeling this lads gonna be popular among the fans, gives the impression that the shirt and club will come before anything.

Half expecting a yellow card within 30 seconds of his debut as well

I thought Ghost Town was referring to Michael Keane or Roy Keane. I am struggling to guess which one correctly so I'm just giving it a pass.

Pretty sure it was self-confessed Liverpool fan* Robbie Keane.

*May also apply to other clubs he has played for.

I would object to the rampant objectification if weren't for the fact that only the lady posters held this forum together during that 5 game blip from hell, during which damn near everybody else simply melted down. That was well done, ladies. Numerous female posters and the odd mod/voice of reason. Otherwise it was literally a horror show of lockdown influenced despair .

Looks really composed. Good acceleration and a decent pass. Plays with maturity.

Thanks for the video.

To be a success at Liverpool you need character and talent.

Reading in the Athletic I loved the fact that he played with broken noses and toes and he looks like he has character. He sounds a top professional and the experience of this season at Schalke will potentially have toughened him up even more and with Klopp and his staff in his ear hopefully he will no doubt help him iron a few issues.

I love how committed he is when he decides to go for a tackle and don't see players bullying us with him around. I see that he has been compared to Lovren, who was a really good defender when he wasn't being rash, but I can only assume that is for being physical. He looks very composed in the video. Too be fair, even if he is a little rash, he is 20. Lovren's issue was he was still rash at 28.

For me, one of the most impressive things is the length of the video. People say "everyone can look good on YouTube" but to get 10 mins of different examples of quality defending, all at the top level for a 20 year old. That is impressive.

Got the raw talent, got the character. Welcome Oban!

Good stuff.

We all know the pitfalls of watching highlights reels but there's something extremely encouraging in there which you can't fake. He can move quickly with the ball at his feet and he doesn't mind taking it beyond the first line into midfield. We need that so badly at the back.

Why not?
There's nowt wrong with appreciating someone's good looks.

I'm a bloke and it's no problem for me to say we've got some handsome guys in our squad.
It's just a step up from liking someone's haircut or their eyes or whatever.

I think what could be construed as inappropriate is when people comment on someone else in a sleazy and lecherous way. This forum wouldn't be a time and place for that. Probably no place would.

For the record, yep he's nowhere near Emre's level of model looks  ;D

That was the main thing I noted from that package, he outmuscled plenty of attackers including absolute units like Dyzuba. Think this lad is going to earn that permanent move over the next 4 months, no questions about that.

Not seen him play, but the youtube videos show a lot of elements in his game similar to Fabinho's. He would reach for the ball from behind, you would think the attacker is past him, when he makes a clean tackle, you see a passing lane opens for him to shut it off... He seems to read the game quite well.

Got a good feeling about this fella.

Can't believe he's younger than Trent.  Could have sworn he was like 24 or 25 or something.

Put him in against City, I would.  Adrenaline will see him through.

The league hasn't gone. No need to throw in the towel yet when there is still plenty of football to be played.
