Ox had a good run out today, but he isn't a wide player. He was incorrectly used as one by Arsenal, Klopp fixed it, so I hope he doesn't become one after his return. Him playing behind Salah & seeing him supply from behind was tasty in his first season with us.

The forward line it's take your pick though. Salah and Firmino naturally rusty and Firmino only played half an hour. It'll be Origi or Brewster through the middle and I don't think they've played together pre-season, so it's probably one or the other and then likely Wijnaldum or Wilson on the left. Salah will probably start on the right.

I agree, I think Wijnaldum can do it for a match and be more effective than Ox who really is a different player when he's playing centrally

I think Wilson will play an important albeit bit part as he's the only youngster that has a full season under his belt in tough, physical league and did very well.

That was a proper feel good display. The talent on our books is insane. Hoever and Elliott are going to be bloody good fun to watch over the next few years and Wilson's left foot is something a bit special too.

Hoever and Elliot were class. Would not be surprised to see the latter start on Sunday if Salah is on the bench. He looked right at home with the first team.

Got to admit though, I don't really get Wilson, especially as a wide forward. Obviously he scored a great goal though and that might do wonders for his confidence, which could help him overcome his flaws. He needs to impose himself on matches more; find space, demand the ball, use the space. It was the same at Derby last season - he would be anonymous for 89 minutes but every now and again pop up with a great goal that would gloss over the rest of his performance.

Lallana looked good again as the deepest central midfielder. He just needs to realise he cannot get away with some of the passes and turns in that position that he would normally do in the final third.
