Have now synched two windows and listening to the room full of microphones instead of the commentary. Good stuff ;D

I've done the same.. Great value to be honest! :)

2-1 to Valencia...

Not sure if correct, though...

Some incredibly immature play from Valencia in the last 20 minutes there, doing their best to lose the game. Ultimately Barca just couldn't make them pay, and I fucking love it. Well in Valencia, I fucking despise everything about Barcelona football club.

Team talk if we play Valencia next season... 'OK lads.. now remember... they literally don't know what a counter attack is or how to implement it'.

Feel for some of the lads/ladies with a camera stuffed in their faces after that loss. Hoping to find a similar show for our game the other day..

Luka Jovic confirmed to Real Madrid for €60 million. They needed to get younger up front, and they needed goals. This should work out to be a great deal for them.

Valencia is in big trouble as it seems 3 of 4 matches under investigation are Valencia's. If they find clear wrongdoing, i wonder if they will relegate them or deduct points only.

a nicer story from Spanish football, is that Santi Cazorla has been recalled into the Spanish squad.
What an incredible story it's been for him these past couple years. A fear he may lose his leg, to be told to be happy just to be able to walk around a garden. To playing in 46 games this season for Villarreal, and now back in the Spanish squad.

If proven, the Spanish FA would have no choice but to demote Valencia, how many divisions i don't know, then that affects the league, everyone else below Valencia up moves one place, Getafe will take Valencia's place Champions League, Espanyol will be in the Europa, Girona who finished 3rd bottom & relegated should be in La Liga next season.

Also how fat evidence goes, Valencia could be stripped of the Copa Del Rey title as well.

Other teams if proven involved could well be demoted as well.

Yep, if Valencia are involved. However based on what Sid Lowe has said Valencia is not believed to be involved. Valladolid will get hammered most likely

Quote
There is no suggestion that Valencia were involved in the conspiracy in any way or were aware of it.

Prosecutors believe that this was driven by gambling, not the interests of the clubs. The initial investigation began when the league alerted to suspicious betting patterns at the end of last season in the second division; now the investigation has expanded to include this highly significant first‑division match.

Madrid haven't really spent in 3 summers now, got 100m for Ronaldo while moving his salary off the books (1st or 2nd highest salary in the sport) and are neck and neck for richest team in the world.  They could probably spent €400m and be fine.  They're still going to add one of Pogba/Eriksen while trying to move Isco, Bale, James and some others.

And even with all that, yeah they're going to be a really funky team that probably won't win La Liga and we would stomp.  Signing Hazard now and at that price, re-signing Kroos, keeping Ramos.  It's weird.

And they're just looking to sign one more player between Pogba and Eriksen.  Assuming it's Eriksen as they won't agree to Pogba's ridiculous demands nor will Ed want to sell his golden boy then €400m is probably going to be a bit short actually.

Spanish football league fined for turning fans' phones into pub spies

Madrid: Spain's football league has been fined €250,000 ($400,000) for secretly using fans' mobile phones as spying tools to crack down on bars screening matches via pirated television signals.

Using an app installed on the users' phones, La Liga remotely turned on the microphone function of the phones to listen for the sound of a broadcast match.

The geolocation function was then able to establish the whereabouts of the person watching a game to check if they were in an establishment with a paid subscription to an official La Liga package, or if it was an illicit signal.

Spain's data protection agency issued the fine after finding that up to 50,000 La Liga users' phones had been used for the purpose.

The agency ruled that La Liga had committed a "very serious data protection infringement" by failing to inform users that their apps could activate the microphone.

If the scheme to crack down on venues screening games had been carried out legally, La Liga would have needed to tell users every time their microphones were switched on, which would have meant an in-app notification being sent to people once every minute while they watched the match.

The in-app spying function appeared to have paid dividends for La Liga, as it was able to file 600 criminal cases against Spanish bars and restaurants.

La Liga has said it loses €400 million a year in television royalties, and that half of Spain's 120,000 establishments showing La Liga do not buy the hospitality package.

La Liga calculates that, of these 60,000 bars and restaurants, two-thirds use a pirate signal while the remainder simply use the signal from a domestic television package, which costs a fraction of the price.

According to a La Liga investigation last year, it is common for several bars in a neighbourhood to share a signal from a single pirate decoder.

In an official reaction to the ruling on Tuesday, La Liga said it would challenge the decision through the courts.

La Liga said that more than 4 million users of its app in Spain "express proactively and twice over" their consent for the use of their mobiles for the detection of fraudulent behaviour from unauthorised establishments.

But in a decision that calls into question the way users of digital services give permission for the use of personal data, the Spanish data protection agency AEPD took issue with the app's one-off system of consent, suggesting instead that La Liga should have warned users each time it activated the espionage function.

La Liga had attempted to quash privacy complaints, saying the technology was "designed to exclusively generate a fingerprint of sound that contained just 0.75 per cent of the information gathered, making it technically impossible to interpret voices or human conversations".

La Liga said it was not spying on users, arguing that the listening technology consisted of an algorithm similar to the music-detecting app Shazam, which identifies popular songs.

La Liga's app breaks ambient sounds into a binary code that automatically compares the sound of the broadcast, with no data being recorded or stored.

"We could not record conversations even if we wanted or if a judge ordered us to, not even if they were related with the piracy that we are trying to pursue," an IT specialist from La Liga said.

La Liga said it would discontinue using the technology from the end of the month, although it said this was merely the end of a contract with the supplier, and not due to AEPD's decision.

Times are saying Madrid are (unsurprisingly) struggling to shift Bale and his reportedly more than £600k a week (!!) contract. They'll probably try to loan him even though he has no intention of leaving. Also apparently he often plays 18 holes of golf after training.

Normally a player can look great on tubes, but one of the things that's encouraging for me is just the amount of youtube videos on him

I love how they’re so pissed of at him playing golf after hours.

I find it hilarious.

I doubt any of his injuries since he joined have been caused by playing golf, but you can understand them being shall we say 'apprehensive' about it considering he's made of papier mache.
