Discussion points:
1. Virgil won 8 MOM awards this season which is impressive, but just as impressive is that he was pushed the whole season by Alisson and Sadio with 7 each. The fact we have had a group of players on top of their game suggests that Klopp recognises the need to improve on last year's Salah solo show.
.
2. Jordan Henderson had 5 MOM awards. I am so happy for him lifting the cup as he has been not universally liked in the same way as Lucas Leiva. He is a great asset to have and an Englishman with a large heart in midfield. Love his attitude.
.
3. Andy Robertson was Mr. Consistent with 15 places in the top 3 this season. His battle with Trent was one of the great reasons we did so well.
.
4. Talking of TAA, his was a disappointing 13th place in the table with only 1 MOM performance. I suppose when he plays well, we score lots of goals and the attacking players get the votes too.
.
5. Divock Origi was so important this season. We know about his wins against Everton and Newcastle that gained us 4 points in the league, but he also did so well in Europe. One to watch although I suspect he will always remain in the shadows of the front 3.
.
6. The most disappointing thing about our front 3 was Bobby Firmino's hit and miss season. The guy did become blind at one point and suffered different injury problems but he didn't shine as much as his teeth did.
.
7. For me, the new recruits were slow to adapt, and Klopp recognised this straight away and kept their appearances down to a minimum. Keita showed first and impressed in pockets and it took months before we got to see Fabinho Tavares. This guy is so good. He reminds me of a young Patrick Vieira and Steven Gerrard rolled into one. Considering he is in his first season of PL football, it was a mighty impressive season. Well done to him...possibly our 2020 player of the season?
Over to you...what are your thoughts on such a fantastic season?
It should have been the double (97 points and not win the league?! Rubbish).
Let's make it a league victory next year REDS. YNWA.
