As was said earlier, he has been well coached by the Owl of where he needs to position himself defensively but on the ball and his decision making is not good. He's only 20 odd, but you can't teach natural talent which he's going to have to try and make up with hard work.

In fairness I think he is, and looked really good against us I thought. Trent is lightyears ahead in terms of attacking though.

Don't think he is, if trents main job was to defend like WB he'd do a better job. Reality is Klopp asks so much more of our fullbacks.

He is very similar to Kyle Walker in that he is an OK defender (positioning, awareness etc.) but his pace makes him dominant defensively. Neither is particularly good on the ball.

For me it comes down to what you want from a full-back. Klopp had Clyne - who is more like Walker/Wan Bissaka - but seems to prefer his full-backs to have the attributes of wingers. Guardiola utilises Walker as a third CB more than an attacking outlet out wide. I don't think Man U/Solskjaer have any opinions beyond "he fits our latest fad of buying young, English players".

Yes very similar to Walker,i've thought that too.

Fine player for a team like City where their fb's have different tasks than us and all of the creativity and playmaking comes from their midfielders.
