Midfield is all over the place.  This is causing problems at the back as a result…

Still, the better team for the last 20 and they’ve started to creak.

They will push again for 10 after half time and then their legs will go.

But we need to sort midfield out.
Agree,  Milner has never been poorer than that.

We are absolutely atrocious. I have no idea what Firmino is doing. Milner has no business starting a football game in the year of our lord 2022. Less said about the defence the better.

Bad start to the game. We have improved and it’s something to build on. Hope for a better second half. Want to see more of Salah and Firmino. It's Diaz that makes something happen. We need TAA to be more involved as well. Difficult to see what subs we can make.

Dreadful , very slow and predictable
Only Elliott and Diaz get pass marks

Jeez that was a hard watch and very predictable to play against.

I’ve had a fucking horrible, horrendous feeling about this match all week and somehow it’s managed to be even worse than that.

As soon as I saw the team and the bench I was gutted they never got it abandoned.

For all the talk of the midfield that defence is an absolute shambles at the moment

Most of the defensive shit is a knock on effect of having no midfield though so they are massively linked, though of course there's certain situations defenders can do better but it's not easy when a simple pass puts something running through at you every time.

Absolute crap. Milner is a liability, lost count of the number of times he lost the ball. What the fuck was Van Dijk doing for their goal, standing there and admiring Sancho instead of closing him down.

Like watching the same game on repeat.

Milner needs to come off. Starting him and not Fabinho is one of the strangest selection choices imaginable.

Van Dijk comically bad on their goal (as was Milner for almost opposite reasons).

Couldn't deal with their press early on, and now we get to watch us not being able to deal with their parked bus.

Feels like we played the occasion (badly) for the first 25 mins then we settled and they’ve hardly had a touch the last 20 mins. Wouldn’t have been unfair if we’d gone in 1-1.

But this giving away the first goal thing has to stop as it’s really costing us and the chance to win games.

Keep playing as we have the last 20 don’t let them have the ball and get Salah in more dangerous positions and we can turn this round but the players need to come out and boss this or it won’t be fun

Can’t see where the goals are going to come from when Diaz and Firmino are playing passes to each other 50-yards from the goal. Same front three that laboured for an hour against Fulham and never looked like scoring.

Neither of them get into the opposition box enough.

Trent has had a really poor start to the season. The way he lets his man just run off him for the goal is atrocious.

An utter mess. Sort it out or this season will quickly become ugly. United are garbage but we've made them look good through indecision and outright sloppiness. Probably the worst 45 Milner has played in a while, this game badly needs Fabinho in there to steady things, if his head is remotely in it. Not good enough by a long, long way and entirely our own fault.

So easy to get to us these days….this is the title winning defence….

Going to be a long season….Absolutely no confidence at the moment.

Feels like 2009/10 season….every match is a grind and we can’t keep going behind….are we really going to score 2 in the second half of matches without conceding?

Got better as the halfwore on but the defence wasn't getting any cover from the midfield. Milner looks his age tonight and alongside Henderson offering very little.

Trent got passed through way to easy for the goal and know idea why Virgil was just just standing there instead of closing down the man with the ball. We looked slightly better going forward the last 10 without actually creating any clear or even half chances really. Looking at the bench no idea how we change the game up so it’s probably going to have to come down to the 11 on the pitch.

Seems a great recipe against us at the moment is "run a lot for the first 20 minutes".

Got a lot to work on, hopefully we can at least save ourselves the humiliation of losing to this United side..

Oh, and Oliver is not having a good game either.. Seems like there's open season on our wingers.

We have a 36 year old midfielder leading our press.. There’s something wrong ffs, how can we ship goals so easily?

We need fucking midfielders.

Abysmal, embarrassing, pedestrian.

That midfield is wank. The forwards stuttering.

It's one of the worst Man U sides since the 80s and their confidence is rock bottom.

We give them an easy ride.

The tactics and formation has been baffling all season. We're crying out for quality and dynamism in midfield.

This is unacceptable, and we've gone backwards big time.

What a fucking horror show. Felt nauseous during the first 20 some odd minutes. Oh my God.

BIG problems in the midfield. We can't be going out there and warming up for the first 30 bloody minutes every game. Henderson needs to pick his head up. Milner doing well to even participate in 50/50 balls but Christ is he sloppy too. Midfield is dysfunctional. When our midfield is supporting neither the attack or the defense they really offer nothing to our game.

Stuff of nightmares. Need to shut the door on these.

I don’t know what to say after that…

This is Man Utd, who have been woeful against Brighton and Brentford and yet we are struggling against them… we have made them look world class and I don’t know how.

We desperately need something to change as something isn’t right.

Also Gary Neville can fuck right off the utter gobshite… commentary I thought was meant to be neutral but clearly Sky don’t give a fuck with all this Manc wankfest…

Deserve to be behind. Absolute shambles out there.

Back four have been atrocious and Milner may as well have a United shirt on.

He needs to come off.
Hard to lay the blame solely on the back 4, that midfield is in shambles. Get Milner off and bring on Fab, we need to actually move the ball.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Terrible first 15 they deserved to be in front.
Midfield couldn't find a pass or a tackle, felt like there were huge gaps in front of the centre backs.

We have looked much more in control in the last 20 or so and with a bit of luck could have been level, Martinez knew nothing of the ball he blocked on the line with his armpit!
Going to be hard to carve out chances as they will sit deep and hit long.
Elliot and Diaz getting more into the game.

But christ they go down screaming for fouls constantly. Oliver has not bought them so far, but I can see they were all over the ref at half time.
