You can keep trying to push that, but there really weren’t. It’s actually quite bizarre to me that posters like yourself think there were many (any?) posters saying that the midfield didn’t need a big improvement in the summer and weren’t quite annoyed it didn’t happen.
well to be fair, the conversation wasn't exclusively about midfielders if you check back - so you've incorrectly called what i was thinking.
but, as you bring it up, i think that you know you're being a little intellectually dishonest though, with your assertion that nobody suggested midfield would get by without some investment.
maybe you feel a little defensive because you thought it was referring to you? it wasn't. and i know post-summer window you said something about wanting signings.
i wasn't making any controversial statement in the post you quoted, or doing the thing you accused, but we do both know that there were lots of people shouting others down in this thread for suggestions that our midfield wasn't looking in ideal nick (often with a 'we just challenged for a quadruple, but ok' or 'oh sure, you think you know this but actually our teams administrators don't make mistakes' kind of condescension). i mean there's one obvious poster who did that with zeal, and was called out for it a lot over the summer, but i think even he's probably quietly joined the consensus now.
