If Firmino goes we need another attacker.

Even if we do, we won't be signing another 25-year-old, on top of Salah, Diaz, Jota and Nunez ...

I think we should. That four still isnt as established yet, especially Nunez.

If we get another forward (I think we need one to replace Bobby) it needs to be a wide forward- ideally someone who can play both sides. Someone like Mudryk?

Yep we definitely need a winger. Jota is our best striker and Nunez would be his back up but whilst Jota does well off the left we only really have Carvalho, Salah and Diaz so we could do with another.

Its another reason why the Bellingham chat is mad. We are probably needing 3 good players next summer and the sums just dont add up.

Mudryk is a talent. Still far from being a finished article, but the tools are there. I watched him live in Skopje for the Ukrainian U21's last autumn, and he looked very good. Certainly an interesting idea ...

Where does Mudryk play?  Is he more of a 10 or a wide forward?

He played wide on the left when I saw him.

As I posted earlier, he got a round of applause from the real Madrid fans when he was Subbed off which I doubt happens too often for an opponents player at the bernabeu.

Looks good technically, well balanced and quick. Work rate seemed decent also.

I wasn't joking when I said we should sign at least 4 midfielders over the next transfer windows.  And i mean proper #6's and #8's.

Our midfield basically need a Million Dollar Man rebuild.

A rebuild on a Europa or lower budget is certainly going to be interesting. Utd and Arsenal spend mind blowing amounts despite no CL football, unfortunately I don't think we'll do the same so we better get finding some bargains. And a central midfielder better be ready to sign on the day the window opens, every point could count for top 4.

indeed. there were pitched battles about this between two camps in here over the summer, but i think this is probably established now as the consensus view based on the season so far unfortunately

Weirdly I'd back us to find good-great players on a budget still, think the bigger problem would be them getting chances when they come in over the senior players Klopp trusts.

Whoever planned this situation needs battering and if its Klopp then he needs to batter himself. Honestly, we got our arses handed to us in midfield.

Facts. Our midfield are shot to pieces physically/mentally. I'd say we need 2 in Jan because we can't control games .
He'll win the league in the next 3 years. Quote me on that.
Quote me on this, but come next season he'll be great for us. Just needs to remove the walking headless chicken next to him

Keita and Ox need shipping out on frees. They simply can't be relied upon. Replacing two players with no fees on a shoestring budget likely without champions League football is going to be the difficult bit.

Even if you don’t….I’m not sure that’s quite as abhorrent as gloating about ‘being right’ when the team is really struggling. But let’s be real Knight, if we go back to your very first posts on RAWK we can get a good grasp on why you’re seemingly enjoying this a fair bit ;)

indeed. there were pitched battles about this between two camps in here over the summer, but i think this is probably established now as the consensus view based on the season so far unfortunately

You can keep trying to push that, but there really weren’t. It’s actually quite bizarre to me that posters like yourself think there were many (any?) posters saying that the midfield didn’t need a big improvement in the summer and weren’t quite annoyed it didn’t happen.

whether people like it or not, we are going to need to throw keita in at more or less the earliest opportunity (whether starting, or playing 30 mins).

Yep, lets give away a player who played 40 games for us last season and has the best points per game ratio in the squad at the earliest opportunity.

We can either release him on a free or maybe the UAE League window is still open (one of their teams signed Allan from Everton last week). Either way we should get rid, we're in urgent need of having less numbers in midfield.

well to be fair, the conversation wasn't exclusively about midfielders if you check back - so you've incorrectly called what i was thinking.

but, as you bring it up, i think that you know you're being a little intellectually dishonest though, with your assertion that nobody suggested midfield would get by without some investment.

maybe you feel a little defensive because you thought it was referring to you? it wasn't. and i know post-summer window you said something about wanting signings.

i wasn't making any controversial statement in the post you quoted, or doing the thing you accused, but we do both know that there were lots of people shouting others down in this thread for suggestions that our midfield wasn't looking in ideal nick (often with a 'we just challenged for a quadruple, but ok' or 'oh sure, you think you know this but actually our teams administrators don't make mistakes' kind of condescension). i mean there's one obvious poster who did that with zeal, and was called out for it a lot over the summer, but i think even he's probably quietly joined the consensus now.

There is absolutely no-one, Peter or anyone else, who should feel ‘wrong’ or ‘embarrassed’ for not joining in the usual pissing contest over who can be the most negative poster in a transfer window.

whats a pissing contest about negative posters got to do with anything? you've lost me with that tangent. i was talking about posters being jumped on this summer for suggesting that midfield reinforcements were essential in this and or previous windows.

that you've replied to this uncontroversial subject with a suggestion that those posters were in a 'pissing contest over who can be the most negative poster' makes it sound like perhaps you still think people with those opinions should be pounced on because it's 'negative'?

seeing your posts on some of our players lately makes me wonder if you might consider self-policing a bit - not saying i think you need to be a less negative, but maybe you might?

by the way, peter wasn't the person i was referring to. also don't understand why you've put wrong and embarrassed in inverted commas - neither of those things have been said by me. i'm hopefully not one of the people in here telling people how to feel

If I was Bellingham I would be seriously wondering whether Liverpool are a good move for me right now. To an unbiased view it could be very easy to see that we’re past our best now and could need some seasons to rebuild a bit to contest. Depends what he’s looking for because it’s to win I don’t think we’re the best choice for any player over Real Madrid or Man City.
