Gordon, despite his penchant for going down easily, is a cracking little player.

If he adds the end product, he'll be a big asset and would be a good signing for Newcastle.
I don't have to sell my soul... he's already in me.

Awful footballer, would be an amazing deal for Everton but they'll probably be too silly to take it and not want to be seen as selling again so quick.

Seems to be a trend, Sportswashers buying lots of domestic players  to get an easy time from their bought and paid for hacks in the media.

And so it starts, Saudi FC distorting the market further like Sportswash teams do by wanting some average player for £35 million.

Wtf do they see in him by besides his penchant for going to ground more times than he touches a ball during a match, an absolute nothing player with no end product.

They googled a list of 'World's biggest divers' and put a bid for Tom Daley before they realised his, erm, lifestyle choices weren't acceptable to the owners so put a bid in for the next on the list?

Newcastle are spending their dirty money quite well so far, I’d be amazed if they would be throwing 35 mill at a forward with 4 goals in 40 games last season.
They already have Saint-Maximin (5 in 37) and Joelinton (4 in 36) to fill the roles of non-scoring attacking player and both are better than Gordon.

Everton selling their best young prospect (it's all relative!) since they sold Rooney would be amusing though.  Not quite the grand ambition they had when Moshiri bought the club.

Just needs to start tucking goals away. Reverse the downward trend. Twist the narrative. Looking inward might help.

Gordon is like the second coming of Ross Barkley. It's one of them though, either he's found out by defenders after a breakthrough season (and his card is marked for being a cheating twat) or he pushes on again. Saint Maxim is similar though. Fast, quick feet, good at carrying the ball but piss all end product. Gordon is at least young enough to imptove, plus the fact he's English.

Be funny if he goes there though as Everton still haven't gotten over Speed and Ferguson fucking off there in the 90s.

That's a huge if though, because end product isn't something you can just quickly and easily add to your game. He seems very much a pace merchant, willing to run at people with the ultimate aim to go down. Only so far that's going to get you.

He seems a good learner. He was very vocal in crediting Benitez for really helping his game last season and pushing him on. Howe is an odd one though with developing players, given his track record on transfers. Gordon could easily be another Jordan Ibe but he seems to have a stronger mentality and being a horrible, cheating bastard can work for you as well as against you. It shows he'll do anything to win as well.

The problem for Everton isn't who they sell or the money they may earn or who they may want to buy.

It's who they can manage to attract; would want to come to them. Cast offs, losers, has beens, promise-never-fulfilleds, veterans-looking-for-a-last-contract and the rest of the unhappy jetsam and flotsam sloshing about on the edges of league football.

It's why there's forever a miasma of failure and despair and awkward comedy over all they do.

If they had sense they'd buy top end Championship and equivalent players from across Europe and set in for a fight from the beginning. But they'd need a top class analytics team for that. #sad

I hope instead they continue to buy PL castoffs without enough character to grind it out.

wrong.

According to the Transfermarkt's stats it is.

TAA - 45 assists in 161 PL games.
Baines - 60 in 420 PL games.

420 - 161 = 259.

TAA's Stats

Baines's Stats

TBF though that does also suggest he has 60 PL assists and not the 52 that the original image suggested.

If they had any sense, they would go for players like Zagadou or Botheim. Out of contract, but still very young, and with a point to prove. Knowing them, they will end up with Tarkowski, Lingard and Januzaj ...

Everton should be looking for cheap players on the up in the Championship and France, northern Europe. They keep buying already rich, expensive, high-earning failures from other clubs because they think somehow it will bring them some lustre. Fools.
