Yup and yup on both counts.

The PL bending over backwards to pretend Everton's losses are within line with those allowable is a complete farce.

Everton are part of the furniture. They claim we get special treatment, but they’ve been in the top division so long, it’s become important to the brand’s story. They hold the record for 118/122 years as a top flight team and are second to Arsenal for consecutive seasons.

We aren't walking through the storm now - we are the storm.

The Premier League wouldn't let such a huge club fail, they're vital to the PL "brand".

Leeds and Burnley have dropped the threat of legal action against Everton and the Premier League over the Toffees' finances.

A complete and utter farce.
It is annoying but it's totally expected, as I stated a number of times in this thread. These threats of legal action just don't ever lead anywhere. Not for football in this country anyway, can't apeak for abroad.

Not sure they are to be honest. I mean what exactly would change if Everton were not in the league? Sponsors suddenly pay less? TV broadcasters cancel their deals? :D

Surely there's a buyer out there, just think they have all this to buy into...

Just another reason to despise the Premier League. They let any kind of gangster and despotic regimes to buy clubs then let Everton get away with blatantly over spending. I really would love the Premier League to go tits up and reset football in this country.

In L4 there's a footy club for sale.
Bottom 3 material...destined to fail.
With a wooden ground, load of shit.
Currently building a smelly sand pit.

They've got no money, fuckin broke.
Nothing more than a running joke.

When they finally move to the dock.

The theories they've come out on GoT on Salah's extension are desperately clutching at straws, a club that's going to post revenues over £600 million could have a financial meltdown paying a player £18 million a year.

Hilarious and just shows the infinite mile gap between the clubs off the pitch, they lose their best player (who's average AF) because they are a financial laughing stock, and we keep ours using our financial might.

Just shows how far apart the clubs are.

Or part of the agreement with the PL was that Moshiri had to look for investors/funding before 30th June and he’s basically just had those talks. Like when someone applies for a grant and they “prove” they’ve looked for alternative funding through a rejected loan agreement they always knew would fail.

I dont think agreement with PL would have anything to do investment. Pumping money into Everton hasn’t been an issue, spending way beyond their means and accumulating losses is their problem.

It's so lonely round the fields of County Road.

Might have been interesting if Leeds had gone down but once they were safe they were never going to be arsed wasting their time and money.

Burnley are a small club ultimately with limited influence and have bigger problems on their plate.

He was already being paid the bulk of that anyway (including during lockdown) and our finances coped. Not to mention the cost it would take to lose him on a free and have to replace him next year.

Decent bet for relegation, hopefully.

Lampard is crap. Everton were close to relegation last time, and now without Richsnarlison it all looks more precarious. Do they have any money to spend after blowing through so much dough in recent years?

The one saving grace for them might be the large gap that exists between promoted teams and the rest of the Prem. Still, I’m backing Everton to go down with two of them.

£20 on Liverpool to win the league... 9/4
£20 on Everton to get relegated... 5/1
£20 double on the above... I don't care as long as it happens.

Gloriously gloriously delightful failure

(Would post the thread but I’ve only just got in from work so I’m tired!)

This is why the takeover didn't make sense. Why would you buy a club who 90% of their income is basically Premier League TV money (especially without artificial Usmanov sponsorships), yet you have to pay north of 500 mill for a stadium, a squad of players that need gutting and then give Moshiri back what he's invested? Nobody is going to do that in good faith.

That team might avoid relegation, if they stay relatively fit. Anything more than that would be a miracle ...

It's still a top half wage bill at least.
