Here’s a mad stat. Of Everton’s 31 wins with Richarlison playing and scoring, all comps, he scored 18 winning goals.

In the league, it’s 16 game winning goals for the 24 wins. They averaged 1.97 points when he scored.

(In comparison, Salah scored 43 winning goals in 99 wins in games that he scored, with an average 2.55 PPG)

He wasn’t exactly prolific, but he won them important points when he did score.

They've done well to get their money back.

It all comes down to the fact they have this deluded belief that they should be as good/as big as us because they come from the same city. They will never have that so they will never be happy.
To be honest, I don't actually think they want to be happy. They really do seem to enjoy whinging and playing the victim card all the time.

So the stuff about Everton needing to book the sale today for their financial year were true. Just like Barca selling 10% of their TV rights today. Is that really the spirit of the rules? I'd say no but I guess by the letter of the law it works for them according to both the PL and La Liga. Not sure how Everton aren't still screwed though. Unless Calvert-Lewin starts banging them in they have no goals in the team, at all, nor can they afford to purchase any with the current market prices.

There's a psychological term for it. It's like a reverse vanity, where a person seems to revel in how shit they are.

Well, when you cannot get the attention you crave by positive means (winning things) it's easy to then embrace misery because moaning about it brings attention. It's not positive attention, but it's still attention, and beggars can't be choosers.

When you don't work hard and clever enough to experience joy, it's easy to, instead, embrace anger. At least it's something to get the pulse racing. Nothing positive but, again, beggars can't be choosers.

In the game between Everton and Newcastle on 17 March, the match had to be stopped while security attempted to remove 21-year-old Louis McKechnie - who was eventually cut free using a pair of bolt cutters and was led from the ground, to boos from the crowd

They needed a cash sale before the accounting year flips tomorrow. They might start buying players now and have kept their powder dry until that turns.

If they do get a takeover then new owners do usually spend in their first window to get the fans onside. They're under scrutiny though for FFP so they won't be going mad with a possible legal challenge from Burnley, but it's clear the PL have no interest in punishing them.
I believe they are in for Tosya Kidonapitch.

Baz from Toffee TV crying 'sly 6' again.  ::)

Never accept responsibility for anything this lot. Quite ironic they sing "Always, the victims, it's never your fault..." at us.

https://twitter.com/THT1878/status/1542438613182562304

The fact that any Everton fan thinks that the 'Sly 6' care about them in even the slightest of ways is the funniest, most deluded thing of all. As if successful teams have nothing better to do but try to stick it to some relegation laughingstock, unless, of course, it's to give it the same attention you do to scrap shit off the bottom of your shoe.
Oh, these sour times.

I suspect they can’t afford a replacement and Gordon will be promoted. They’ll be relying on DCL to bag the goals.

Wouldn’t shock me if they whacked a sweatband on Big Dunc and had him as an emergency striker. He wouldn’t score and they’d get relegated, but he might knock one of our lads off their feet in the derby so it’s a win-win.

Harry Winks is a Brendan Rodgers player if you ever saw one.

Christ they can't even get this over the line..

I was dissapointed they avoided relegation, thought it might not happen again but now it's looking like they could be scrapping down there again which would be brilliant.

Paul Joyce reporting they’re after Jessie Lingard on a free.

Winks/Lingard/Zinchenko - they’ve learned nothing and will talk about UCL experience and (for the latter) a ‘serial winner’

This season should be an opportunity to do things differently but they can’t help looking at a second hand sports car when they need a VW Polo
