Reduce the attendance for what? The chance to maybe host a UEFA final once every blue moon and be a part of a bid that will fail?
You'd have to relocate all the wheelchair spaces from the front (36 home 24 away) and lose around 500 seats, you're talking about £500k a season in lost revenue.
Look, I get it. We don't want a ground which can stage UEFA or FIFA major tournaments.
But, when the club decided to do the ARE, it was a blank canvas. Wheelchair locations could have been moved away from the front row (and inclement weather) to a mezzanine level. There will be lifts in the new upgraded ARE.
Loss of seats, again blank canvas, meant potentially filling in the sides or adding a couple rows to the top. Or maybe changing to Rail seating.
Like I said, blank canvas. I suspect all issues could have been addressed.
