Well i thought i bricked this laptop, when i restarted it after the download it started up fine then turned it off and turned it back on an hour later, didn't even get the PCSpecialist icon showing the laptop is booting, just got a screen that was black for about 3 minutes, had to turn it off on the power button and tried again and it worked.

Was surprised this morning to see Windows complain that my PC (AMD 5800X, Asus B550-F motherboard) wasn't compatible! Updating the BIOS was enough to satisfy the health check tool that all was now OK, but windows update is still complaining.  Oh well, I probably wouldn't install it yet anyway.

I upgraded to 11 a couple of weeks ago and so far have not had any issues with it.

Yeah my windows got bricked trying up upgrade. I had to upgrade the TPM, and enable secure boot from the BIOS. And then during the upgrade, restarted multiple times. And then after some attempts, I got the black screen. Seriously pissing off.

I will have to reinstall windows 10 and then look toward upgrading it in a couple of years.

But yeah. Bricked it.

Like with W7, I won't upgrade unless/until I absolutely have to. I don't have a clue about upgrading BIOS or recovery discs etc. This laptop didn't even come with a DVD drive - no room for it. I had to buy an external one to plug into.
I don't always visit Lobster Pot.  But when I do. I sit.

It's had 2 other updates since i downloaded it friday.

Other than the issue when i thought i bricked the laptop, its seems to be okay, only gripe so far is the laptop takes slower to turn off than before.

Leaving the other on W10 for a bit longer.

Anyone else having serious battery issues since installing Windows 11. Relatively new laptop here that used to last nearly 10 hours on battery saver mode that now only last 3-4 hours? How can I go back to Windows 10?
So bloody what? If you watch football to be absolutely miserable then go watch cricket.

That's weird they are listing TPM 2.0 as a requirement. I know they relaxed that a bit for Insiders build for people to preview it but looks like not for public release.

My desktop has no TPM and I am getting the message that it is incompatible.

The two HP Laptops I use with Windows 10 both are TPM 1.2 and I get the 'not compatable' message. But I have duel install of Ubuntu on both of those, so not really arsed.

My other Windows Laptops (Windows 10) and my Desktop are all TPM 2.0 and are good to go, but I'll wait a bit I think

The other laptops have got stuff like OS2/Warp, XP, Windows 7, Windows 98, Mint, Ubtunu, Centos 6, Centos 7 and Centos 9 on - so not affected.
