Carvalho and ??
Is Vieira done?

Calvin Ramsay.

Don’t think any others are close to being done, well, not been made public anyway!

Not convinced by the Fábio Vieira links, at least not in this window.  He's a small, left-footed attacking midfielder and we have one of those in Elliott.  Plus Carvalho potentially playing the same kind of role.  Doesn't look like someone who could excel in our front line, so I'd be amazed if we picked him up.
Sit down, shock is better taken with bent knees.

Gundogan leaving City in the summer. Think they probably need a couple midfielders, they’re relatively light there - Rodri, De Bruyne and Silva is about it, with Fernandinho also leaving.
Foden will play MF more with Haaland there.

Increasing reports that Mbappe to Madrid is a done deal - Ballbag is convinced it's finalised.

Where would PSG turn for a replacement? You'd think Salah would be right up there on their wanted list (especially from the sportwashing perspective - Salah being a hero in the Middle East).

If they decide to throw silly-money at Salah, could this tempt him away?

Nkunku would make loads of sense. Came up through their academy, entering the stratosphere and even if he costs £80m he'll be on relatively low wages at Leipzig.

Salah would be an idiot to go there, from a sporting perspective. Would prove it was all about money, though! Can't see it happening in a million years.

Salah makes sense, as would Lewandowski. Anybody else they could get isn't a top tier operator. I could see somebody a bit left field like Griezmann or Joao Felix.

TBF he's given us his best years, he's won everything and is 30 in June. I think he's earned the right for 'this' contract to be primarily financial. It's his last big deal to secure his and future generations of his families future. And it's not like PSG is like going to China or the Middle East.

Aye he's done just fine. Its not really the same as the Wijnaldum contract, which was the one negotiated from when he moved from a relegated club having been on dutch league wages. He's had a big money move to Chelsea then several team leading contracts here and at Roma before.

Also (unlike Gini) there's noone in world football up to his standard as a physically top right sided left footer. So if he were to opt for a PSG move hypothetically, it's almost purely for money (which he's allowed to do, it would just render some words a bit meaningless).

Case of waiting til probably August to learn more though

The point of his family being set for generations passed when he signed for Chelsea I'd say. Since then it's just been topping up. Not sure what a PSG contract would enable them to do that they can't already. I can't imagine they're going to a state school because private school fees are a bit beyond him at the minute but if he wanted to do that it's entirely his choice and we have to accept that.

That would be some drop off Mbappe levels. If PSG want the best after the three they have now its got to be Mo.

I like Cucurella but its a bit cheap for City isn't it- only spending £30m on a fullback?

Guess they will also be after a midfielder or two with Fernandinho and maybe Gundogan leaving. Its a miracle where they will find the money from...

Some going to let a player leave, re-sign them for €100m and then let them leave on a free again to the same team. For such a badly run club Juve have had some help off the even worse run United with this and Ronaldo

Cancel looks better suited on the left for them.

Cucurellla will probably just add to the expensive unused bench option and have nice chats with Ake during the game .

Still think if you keep him fit in a Klopp team you get 10+ goals and 20+ assists a season out of him.

Strange attitude on the lad though and he can't stay fit.

Statistically like you say, aside from the pressing element, what a beast.

Cucurella is quality - he'll be perfect for what they do at City. Good value at that price too, an upgrade over Zinchenko. Still all a bit pointless isn't it though.

Dembele as boss as he is his attitude is his biggest issue. With his injuries is he a bit like Keita were he doesn't want to play if he's not a hundred percent every game?

Nothing City do should be worried about to be fair. We have the best team and manager and our recruitment is purely spot on.

City adding Haaland, De Jong, Snoogy Doogie Howser, Pele's clone...whatever. All they do is add to the feeling in football that they are a faked, sportwashed empty shell of a club.

Ten Hag wants to bring Lisandro Martinez to United from Ajax, according to the Telegraph.

He may be really good, but I'm always really wary of managers signing players from clubs they've just left. Feels like a slight sign of insecurity, and Ten Hag seems willing to take several from Ajax to United (Martinez, Timber, Antony all linked).

I'm not sure height really matters, he'd have the colossus of Mykonos next to him, Aaron Wan Cafu on the other side not letting a single thing past and David De Yashin commanding his area behind him
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Martinez is ace and can play as a deep lying midfielder. Too small to be a competitive CB in the Premier League though, teams would isolate him aerially and just bombard them. He's played mainly in a 4, in fact never in a three but has always been in a side that constantly has the ball. Just doesn't seem like he'd be the best signing given what they need - he is in the bottom 23% for winning and challenging for aerial balls in Europe, imagine the Utd fan's reactions when he gets bullied and jumped on for two headers by Ashley fucking Barnes next season.

One of those players you can simultaneously appreciate but know isn't the right profile. As a Masch-lite style ball winner and recycler in midfield, perhaps. Great tackler, decent presser, great passer. Centre Half? No. Too small, too used to playing a system that protects him from facing what he's poor at. He's also spent the last three months out injured and isn't expected to be fit until the new season, which doesn't help, having time at a new club be rehab time.

Edson Alvarez is the Ajax player they should be all over as a DM, a lightbulb moment. Can do all the nasty stuff but can play too.

He doesn't though? Granted there's times where he displays immature decision making, but he's closer to a Vinicius or a Sane than he is Traore. His carries are great, he creates loads of chances and as a result gets loads of assists. It's not worked out at Barca but he's talented. He's got 13 assists in 20 La Liga games this season, Traore has 2 assists in 30 league games (Spain and England) and both of those came in the same match.

They've been linked with Antony and Timber too, haven't they? It's gonna be really interesting to see how he tackles the job, Ten Hag.

He’s got Luke Shaw already, does he really need more Timber?
