What are Nottingham Forest up to?

They’ve signed 20 players

Practically a new squad

Morgan Gibbs White at a potential £42.5 million stands out as a mad fee…

Number 1 fan of Xabi Alonso Alberto Aquilani Raul Meireles. Barry is pure shite compared to Xabi Alberto Raul!!!!!

Potter gave him a call and said wish you were here and the rest is history.

They’ve also just signed Judith Chalmers.
Interviewer asked Billy why he signed,

"money?", "get away" replied Billy.

Southampton sign another Man City nobody for £10 million
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Head of the City academy went to Southampton in the summer.

Probably for an inflated fee, too.

They've bought 3 players from Abu Dhabi for £37m, not a single appearance in the league between the three of them during their time at Abu Dhabi.

It’s got definite ‘take over a second club on FM and sign loads of expensive players from your actual club’ vibes. I used to go with Gerard Boullier as my second managers name

There’s got to be something wrong with football if a team has to buy 20 (or more) players in one transfer window.  It’s absolutely bonkers.  I know lots of their team last year were loans or out of contract in the summer, but….I don’t know.  Is it just me who finds the whole thing just really weird?  In the past, teams were generally settled year on year, with a couple of ingoings/outgoings each summer - fans could build a rapport with the team and call it their own.  Now for lots of teams, there’s just a constant recycling of squads every 6 months, players loaned in, loaned out, sold, bought.  How can the fans build a connection?

Anyway, I’m just waffling now.  Just something I’ve been thinking about.  *Old man yells at cloud*

Potential reason for all the Forest transfers - Brennan Johnson said he wanted to leave and they told him he would be playing with a new squad by the end of the window. Just a couple hours to get the final 3 players in!!!
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

I'm fine with it as long as their next move is to add manager as Man Utd, release all their players, then sign our worst academy players for £50m a piece like I used to do.

Offline please, I have my reasons for it but...

I think most of the football league is like that now, the finances are so tight that most clubs won't commit to more than a 1 (maybe 2 at a push) year contract so every summer there's massive upheaval. I keep an eye on Tranmere's comings and goings and their turnover year after year is insane.

The three that have been sold were probably brought in for less than a million total and they've now made a huge profit on them. There's probably some huge sell on fee or buy back clause too.

I might be wrong here, but are the rules changing for FPP (or its equivalent) next season where it's a percentage of income you can spend?

Wonder if that's why the weaker teams have lumped on a bit and 'prudent' Liverpool think they can be more dominant once this comes into effect.

Just seen on Twitter - Exeter City have signed Jay Stansfield on loan from Fulham for the season.

His dad was Adam Stansfield, who was Exeter's number 9 when he died in 2010 aged 31.

Jay's been given the number 9 shirt.

Yeah think its to do with number of times registered, rather than number of transfers/loans isn't it?

Southampton surely accepted the bid (if that report is true), but if you're leaving City's academy/reserves for Southampton you are presumably looking to play - so there's surely almost no chance that player could be bullied into agreeing to join academy wasteland Chelsea (who look only more likely now to be a terrible place for youth players to develop in the team)
