If you were explaining to a novice what the football term “yard dog” meant, just show any footage of Ryan Yates.

Lots of shit for Gakpo, some of it fair, hopefully that means he’s about to score

Change the midfield on the hour and we'll win.
Let us never forget Rafael Benitez and what he did for us. A fighter full of guts and passion. A gentleman full of class and dignity. A football manager full of intelligence and pure genius. A Legend.
Adios Rafa, buena suerte.

Not our best half. I don’t think Gomez or Clark know where to play. Neither are really offering any support to the player on the ball.

We’ll need to have a better 2nd half and get some shape into our game.

It would be nice if Tierney gave us anything. For most of the throwins or goalkicks he just seems to guess.

Oh and listening to Warwock you’d need we were being schooled by the better team. Even if we mount an attack it’s apparently Forest allowing us to do so.

Isn't it the linesman job too?

Think Gomez has done alright as the 6.  His range of passing is exposed in that position but he's been available and moved the ball well.
Agree, problem he is the one getting most of the ball and it should be Alexis.

Not the worst idea at all, confident we'll up the tempo in the second half.

We are essentially 1-0 up if you think about it 😂

Not a surprise at all there.  We've seen a lot of first halfs like that this season.  No doubt that JK will make some tweaks and get things corrected and find the right combination of subs.  Happy it's level rather than having to claw two back.

Yates is just such a limited player.  Make hard fouls and ride your luck that you don't get a booking.

Oh, and also not a surprise to see Gakpo fulfilling his role as everyone's favorite whipping boy here.  So odd when one player seems to get deemed the problem and then that narrative settles in.  Ah well.  Used to be Curtis in that role.

Hopefully they will tire. Elliot normally has pretty good 2nd halves so hopefully he can create an opportunity or two. We can't be doing anything silly and letting them score first as it will become an absolute slog.

Yes but he seems to have gone awol at times leaving Tierney to wait for the players to decide whose throw it is.

Mac Allister was the best player on the pitch.

Hopefully we up the tempo now.

Tierney can't be trusted. He has given them so many chap fouls and throw ins.

We are doing alright but need to be quicker.

He hasn't had the chance to get a big decision wrong, but it really is death by a thousand cuts with him today. Every 50/50 he can't wait to give it to them.

I suspect keeping it tight was the gameplan. Too many times we go one behind. Second half reds will get it done

I don't think so. I just think we're missing alot of our best creative/threatening players. They're letting us have the ball because there's very little chance of a pass or dribble cutting through them.

Hopefully something falls the right way in the second half.

Midfield can't build up and you guys are all blaming the striker. How short sighted. All of Gakpo's touches have been from himself dropping deep. Even if Nunez was on the pitch he'd be feeding off nothing. Gomez and Clark offer nothing in terms of progressing the ball.
