Its a good airport to be fair, i've never had any problems and fly out of their a fair bit

that said Manchester airport is just as good if not better - so its not outstanding.

in what way was it a "joke" mate f you dont mind me asking?

Large crowds and small areas to herd them.

Was a while ago and have not flow from JLA since and never will.

Manchester has caused me no problems in the years I have been using it so it's the only airport we use now.

New security scanning hall at JLA is much better than the previous arrangement. Got through dead quick, and now they have the big Wetherspoon/Burger King/Frankie & Bennie's etc after security rather than before the departures it's a much better experience.

Still take exception to walking under those useless cover's in the pissing down rain to actually get on the aircraft (Ryanair - I know, get what you pay for), but I suppose that won't change because most of the aircraft stands are at either side of the terminal building rather than directly in front of the terminal like at Manchester.

What I would say is avoid the theiving git hackney drivers outside - last time I got charged £12 from the airport to just behind Springwood Cemetry - got Delta this time after calling them in the baggae claim area and it was £6 (and there straight away when I got outside!)

Nearly had a fight with one of those robbing bastards. Got out of the Airport and had gone about 1 1/2 miles down the road and it was at £11

I argued with him and first he threatend to get his taxi mates down - which I told him to do as they would be there too late for him. Then he threatened to get the police - I pointed out that the Police would be interested in his obviously tampered-with meter. So he dumped me miles from home and I had to walk back - with him issuing dire threats he would 'get me'

I asked him to step out of his cab and repeat it and he hurridly drove off. The knobhead.

Same here . The only time I'll get a black cab is if I'm stuck in town .

Also , the hackney drivers who cover the airport have got to be the most miserable bunch of fuckers you'll come across.

I flew to Lanzarote from Liverpool on Sat 14th May, checked in at midday- no queue. Through security and in the bar within ten minutes. Couldn't believe how quiet the place was and how quick we got through. Coming home though there were 3 flights (possibly 4, but definitely at least 3) all landed at pretty much the same time, so there was the queue snarl up getting back through passport control, though it moved steadily- felt a bit sorry for those at the back of the queue because it backed up almost out of the door but no one was stood out there long. Upside was the bags were already on the carousel when we got through. I think once all the building work is finished it shouldn't happen like that- and I still base my holiday searches on finding a Liverpool departure :)

SHITE - if you've ever had to pick someone up or drop them off at the airport you will know why. You have about 5 minutes (used to be 10) which isn't enough and the drop off point is terrible.

It's awfully considerate of you to think of me here/ and i'm most obliged to you for making it clear/ that i'm not here

Yeah they do

turned out I didnt need them...stepped outside the airport and the 80 was just pulling up...was home in 5 mins.....only downside was the scruffy twat bird of a driver - eating her lunch as she was driving and throwing the scraps/wrappers etc out the drivers fuckin window....talk about welcome to Liverpool!

Probably best at a Post Office or Marks & Spencers shop on Church Street in middle of city centre
The airport will give a very bad rate - it will be bad enough changing from Euros to Pounds anyway, if you are coming from Europe I'd change there you'll get a better rate

Sometimes JLA is a pain, but usually only due to insufficient resources at passport control when you return, although the last flight I had (last week from Amsterdam), 3 aircraft arrived at the same time and it did take around 25 minutes to get through.  Upside (as someone else has mentioned) is that my hold luggage was ready for me, quick walk to car park on off on my way home.  Things have definitely improved.

Manchester?  I've flown through there dozens of times and on the odd occasion, things have obviously gone horribly wrong (like at T1 when the snakey system they have before security was packed and the queue continued into the main terminal and snaked it's entire length, twice!  Other time I've been the only person in site, in the whole of the security check system (It thought the airport had closed and nobody had told me!).  My record is 7 minutes flat from arriving at the terminal door to ordering a beer in the departure lounge at Manchester T1.  T3 is usually shit though (although, again, improving, flew out of there Monday heading for Glasgow with no hassle at all).

Worse every delay at security for me,Philadelphia, 2 hours to get through (missing my transfer flight) but this was only a few months after 9.11 so understandable.
As a young man Cameron looked out on the social carnage of pit closures and mass unemployment, looked at Margaret Thatcher's government and thought, these are my people. When all the debating is done, that is really all I need to know.

Fucking seems like it this morning. Since about 7am I've heard none stop noise from what seem to be aeroplanes but I don't know for sure. Lots of low, rumbling sounds followed by obvious passenger plane noise in between. No idea if the RAF are doing training drills or there's an airshow nearby and it's preparation for that but it's been absolutely incessant for near on 2 hours now.

Anyone else hearing it? Curious to know what it is.

Best thing to do now dropping off is to drive down Dunlop Road towards Hale Road, and there's a little back road there you can walk down to get to the airport. Only a couple of minutes walk from the main road and you don't get done for stopping there.

Isn't there still a free 20 minute drop off pick up zone but its not right opposite the airport anymore , isn't it supposedly around 500 yards away ... Though the one right by the airport is payment , can't recall going to Manchester and not having to pay to park .

I despise Liverpool airports aggressive stance toward motorist, in fact customers, with the £2 charge, the dubiously legal red lines and the ever-present, money-making camera vans. However, if you google 'airport parking fine', you'll get similar results across the country.

So I'm fucked if I'm going to travel to Manchester, with the £70 round trip cost and providing them unnecessary custom when I have an airport on my doorstep.

Park up the road, pay the £2 or even risk not paying the fine like many who successfully do, but don't harp on about it mate. Its your local airport even if they are occasionally incompetent.
