Liverpool Bands
« on: September 5, 2010, 12:27:09 pm »
Excluding the Beatles who’s the best band Liverpool have produced? We have a reputation for producing bands. Tony (the manc) Wilson once said that we have a reputation for producing bands but he thought we threw up old grannys. Some truth in that??? Who’ve we got that’s genuinely any good comparatively speaking, with them or any other city in Britain excluding London. Real Thing were good, Deaf School in their day and the bunnymen, always loved that Original Mirrors LP at the time as well.

Saw Deaf School at the Everyman last year - top gig that was .

Personal favourite of mine were The Icicle Works . Still amazes me that they never made it bigger than they did .

Indeed he did.  A particularly cuntish response to an observation which was surely pertinent to a thread on Liverpool bands.

Anyway, people might find this previous thread interesting too.

Oh and The Room, particularly in their previous guise as Benny Profane were fucking great.
