Most fish in Bombay (Mumbai) float like ducks.  ::)

I remember when our kid started training as a Chef and he told me that and I thought he was taking the piss.

I didnt even realise there was anyone else in the BG's other than the brothers,{other than session musos}.
Seen a tribute band last night and Colin Petersen, the man in question, was part of the show. Telling stories of his time with the Bee gee's .he said Maurice told him the gibb family where contemplating moving from Manchester to either Canada or Australia when they watched the movie Smiley and they decided Aust was the place.. he still plays the drums well ,took over for one song.Said he met Lennon in a pub in london..lennon told him the BG's latest song "World" was a "load of Bollocks"
Was a good night..

If you want to check if your remote control is working or not then get the camera on your phone and point it at the IR transmitter and press the remote button

You camera can detect and show the IR pulse.

Alternatively, you could point it at the TV and try to change the channel.

My TV is borked, hence I needed to use my camera to verify that the remote is working (it is)

The day after England won the World Cup in 1966 the Darkwyne sank on a pleasure cruise off Cornwall with the loss of thirty one lives. The boat had a limit of twelve.

The subsequent enquiry noted all the faults with the structure, seaworthiness and lack of qualification of the crew but virtually no one was held to account.

I was thirteen at the time and pretty news savvy - Profumo, Torrey Canyon, Kennedy, Great Train Robbery, Shepherds Bush shootings but have no recollection of this;

Found that out years ago, she said that she never "came out" as she thought it would hurt her glamour career.

Now, women might not like the idea of two men together, but a bloke thinking of 2 women going for it.........

If one of them's Sam Fox? *wipes brow* I don't think it would have hurt her career at all.

Different areas of the Uk (indeed, of the planet) have slightly different gravity.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravity_anomalies_of_Britain_and_Ireland
https://bigthink.com/strange-maps/gravity-anomalies/

:o  I'd assumed it was all uniform

(I admit to having no idea of how gravity works. I mean, I understand what it does and what its effect are... but not a clue about what creates it)

A Tory, a worker and an immigrant are sat round a table. There's a plate of 10 biscuits in the middle. The Tory takes 9 then turns to the worker and says "that immigrant is trying to steal your biscuit"

In the mining industry they use gravity variations to indicate what minerals may be under the surface. It's called gravity gradiometry. they use gravity gradiometers and gravimeters to measure it, they then use the data to produce gravity maps which they use in conjunction with geological data to determine whether or not to further explore the region.
