I ain`t livin in the past John mac, good though they were, so the time is NOW and Football evolves and changes and so thats the way it is...........

You aint living in the past but the last successful Liverpool team with two wingers was in the mid-60s. I can't remember a recent sucessful team in English football with two wingers, with the possible exception of Blackburn's one season stint!

Things do evolve and change....and every half decent team scrapped the notion of playing two wingers 30 years ago.

Cain why don't you write a letter to Mr Houllier explaining that you are far more tactically aware than him, tell him exactly where he is going wrong and ask him to go out and but Tom Finney and Stan Mathews to play as wingers.

With a bit of luck Sky will show the games in black & white and everyone can run round dead fast

You'll often find the very same people who want two out and out wingers are the same people who want Jari AND two strikers.

That would mean leaving out either Steven Gerrard or Dietmar Hamann then.

How many players are on a team again?  It was eleven last time i checked.

I think it's too late in the season - too delicate a stage - to tamper with the side too fundamentally now.  Yes there are changes that COULD be made, but if we tried something revolutionary and it fucked up we'd feel a bit daft eh?

Maybe we could all agree to disagree, and then go for a pint?

Michael :)

All joking aside, I agree with BobC's point. It is not the time of the season to be taking chances. But he has another year to go on his contract and I think he should be given a chance before we decide he is not for us.

I still think he could be the man to add that extra dimension to our attacking game though.

Could do with another drink now.................

Malibu and pineapple anyone???

My hunch is that this kind of argument would get on Jari's tits as much as it seems to Steve_C's.

Bring on the Magpies! Michael Owen: 12 goals in 7 games against the buggers! Hooray!

Well, it looks as if Jari might get his chance to start after all, and at the Camp Nou, of all places.

It is a shame that NA is cup-tied, cos he would terrorise Barca's defence, but...

COME ON JARI!!!

Shit. I forgot about the cup-tied thing. Shame with Nic playing so damn well last night.

It's going to be a MASSIVE game and I am sure that Jari will be so up for it.

Bring 'em on!

Maybe I am a bit radical and my view wouldn`t work but there`s no harm in TRYING a few new things you never know what may happen .......
Mind u I couldn`t fault our tactics last nite positive, direct football a joy to watch but maybe thats for another thread !
As for Jari ,I bet he can`t wait for Barca !!!!!!!
