Easy win but YES ROCKY come one you can get something out of this even if it's the Smith v Abraham cash flow rematch.

Canelo coming of two straight losses and stepping up in weight, he is by no means invincible.

Nice one for that. Disappointing way for it to go as canelo never looked in any trouble. Wanted rocky to do a bit more than he managed

Absolutely brutal that

Every time he went down he looked over to his corner as if to say ‘why the fuck have you put me in with this bloke?’
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

It was like Rocky was looking over waiting for Jamie to throw the trowel in.

He was way out of his depth.

Suppose he can start spending his 7 figures now.

Have to respectfully disagree here. Rocky is 'The Champion' and champion should take on all comers. Rocky could get beaten by any person arpund that level for a hell of a lot less money than he did against Canelo

It was an embarrassing performance and he looked like a competition winner out there but he is now a millionaire

Irresponsible would be Brook v GGG though Brook got multi million payday for that

Yeah he's a top prospect.

As for Rocky, guy had absolutely no business being in therr with Canelo. Back to fighting Latvians at York Hall.

not seen it (might do at some point) but before the fight I thought that canelo saw an easy route to a so-called world title and a way of saying he's won one at that weight. nothing's changed my mind since.

I agree with CB here. Rocky lucked into a "world title" by beat Zeuge, the Super Middleweight version of Charles Martin. He would probably have been beaten by anyone on the fringes of the top 10 for a fraction of what he got for his beating last night. He got a hiding but can recover and most importantly, if he is smart, he is set up financially for a very long time. When it is time for him to retire, he can do so knowing that he is one of the few boxers with a fat bank balance. Better to take one slapping now, than half a dozen when past your prime.

Not surprising. Did anyone really think he would fight Callum Smith?

I'd strongly back Callum via TKO if Canelo was foolish enough to fight him.

Rocky isn't world class but he isn't a bum, he knew he had no chance in there and a loss against Canelo is absolutely no shame for any fighter.

When all is said and done, when he's an old man, he will get to tell his grandkids that he headlined at Madison Square Garden against a potentially ATG fighter. And he got a nice few quid for doing it. Why would he NOT take such a fight? I reckon he's going to fight De Gale next year who is clearly on the slide and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a hell of a lot closer than people think.

Puts Khan's performance into context considering he moved up in weight and lasted twice as long and boxed better.

Not really.

Khan was lucky to still be alive after that knock out he suffered.

Clearly it's still messing with his head as he won't take the so called easier Brook fight.

Glad i never got up for that fight.

I don't i'll ever watch a Canelo fight again anyway after those victories robbed from GGG.

Yes really. Khan gets shit on but he performed much better, judges had it close at that point. Plus he didn't get knocked down in every consecutive round.

If you wanted to have a pop at Khan for, in your opinion, ducking Brook then you’re always going to be better off just clearly making that point on its own rather than trying to link it to how Khan and Rocky fucking Fielding did respectively against Canelo. It’s not even the same ballpark.

As for boxers moving up in weight when they shouldn’t, and being lucky to be able to carry on boxing afterwards and being clearly affected by the beating they took....you know, people in glass houses etc

So sad.

Boxer Adonis Stevenson remains unconscious, promoter says
Montreal boxer Adonis Stevenson, 41, was knocked out by Oleksandr Gvozdyk of Ukraine in their light-heavyweight WBC championship fight on Dec. 1.

The promoter for Adonis Stevenson says the boxer remains unconscious and has not improved since doctors sedated him and placed him on a ventilator after a Dec. 1 knockout loss.

Promoter Yvon Michel said Thursday "doctors do not venture an opinion on what lies ahead" for the 41-year-old fighter. Stevenson is in intensive care at Quebec City's Hopital de l'Enfant-Jesusstill and "needs mechanical assistance to breathe."

Stevenson's condition deteriorated after he was helped to the dressing room following the fight against Oleksandr Gvozdyk of Ukraine at the Videotron Centre. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

He was admitted with a traumatic brain injury that required immediate neurosurgery. Intensive care specialist Dr. Alexis Turgeon said Dec. 5 that most patients suffer lasting effects from such injuries.

The hospital has not provided an official update on Stevenson's condition since.

I know he's been a shithouse in the past but this is highly unpleasant. Maybe he changed, none of us know him. Here's hoping we makes a full recovery. One thing we know for sure is his boxing career is over.

Something else that's leaving a bad taste in my mouth is the fact that Gvozdyv hasn't even been to visit him in hospital. Maybe he has, but I've not read anything on any of the boxing websites.
