umm... know this one is a stretch and far outside London, but didn't want to start another thread. So, any place to watch in Bridport? My gran's just moved there.
Me dad reckons he was in the Kop when it was recorded so says he's sang for Pink Floyd. ;)

This threads reminded me so much of the 10 yrs I lived and worked in and around north London.  Horrible places & pubs.  Don't miss the tip at all.

And if anyone could pm me the name of any North London pubs who still show Saturday 3pm games that would also be good ;)
Theres one in Barnet called the Weavers near the odion cinema.  Has 3 to 4 screens.  Ususally have Sky and Al Jezeera on.

Does anyone know of a good Reds pub somewhere near the centre (not the F3K, a little far for me to travel)?

I'm looking for something similar to what the Extra Time Bar was -- packed full of Reds, home away from home, etc.  Doesn't seem to be any definitive answers, but there must be a lot of others down here who want a good atmosphere for the match.  Cheers.

I just go to the Royal George by Euston station, landlord is a red and you get a few reds in there but also a few nob eads.  Its easy for me as I can get the train home straight after.  Not the best place but 4 screens and can be a good atmosphere

I've been there couple of times and always a couple other of reds watching (other people usually just 'pub folk'). Was there in the FA Cup final and the athmosphere was great!

I was at Trafalgar Square for 2005. About 200 - 300 Reds were there singing our anthem. I wish I had my camera that day. Almost bought a tear to my eye. :'(

After the denise of th Extra Time Bar and several failed attempts at finding a good vebue, we have settled on the Litten Tree on Old Street (nearest tube Old street)

They are cool with flags, banner and singing and have a large screen

The old crew from the ETB will be down there including th two blokes with the big gobs (Aaron and Pete)

The core crowd that used to go to the Extra Time Bar in Barbican are now resident at the Litten Tree on Old St. There are at least 50 of us going down tonight. Banners, and chanting welcome

I went to the Litten Tree tonight in Old Street, London - as I was working there. It was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. It took til after the first goal to get served a pint. The bar was full of Reds but you could have heard a pin drop. It was a real embarrassment. If that was what Extra Time bar was like, I'm glad I never went. Dreadful all round.

well I was in the "Old King's Head" at London Bridge which definitely had a Liverpool bias (in the upstairs bar) but by far and away the best LFC bar at the moment is the Balham Tup.  No singing or flags, but very much an LFC pub.  It's big, has got two big screens and lots of TV screens and they always show LFC.  Watched the Barcelona away game there and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Not quite as busy when the game is on ITV as people seem to stay at home...
One pissed up old feller then took it upon himself to clutch each one of us by the face saying "you have to BELIEVE!"  "You know why we are going to win this?"  "Because we are the mighty, mighty, mighty, mighty, fuckin mighty mighty mighty fuckin mighty fuckin mighty mighty mighty mighty mighty mighty Reds!".

Calling all London-based Reds
« Reply #65 on: April 27, 2007, 12:12:52 pm »
Right, there's clearly a lot of London-based reds on this forum, so four days ahead of what could be a great night in this club's history, let's do something about it.

Anyone fancy getting a load of us together, meeting up in a pub somewhere in central London? I know there are stray posts on here occasionally saying 'Wanna meet up?', but this is gonna be a massive night, and if we can't be at Anfield, and on the kop, we can at least get together in town, take over a pub, and roar the boys on. Shirts, scarves, fucking air horns (!) - bring em all.

I know we're probably scattered to all four points of the city, but if anyone wants to suggest a central pub let's narrow it down to one by Monday. If there's enough of us we could even book an upstairs room in a pub in time.

I know this might sound a bit ambitious, but FFS – this night could go down as one to rival St Etienne in 77 and Anfield in 2005. Fuck being at home or with a few mates in some neutral boozer – let's fucking do something and feel like we're doing our bit.

Any takers?

It is most definitely an awful pub.  I went on Wed, and there was at least a decent pocket of supporters in the back, and we sang a bit, but it took the shitawful bartenders at least 10 minutes to serve me every time, and this happened to everyone around me.  The place was far from full, they were simply without doubt the most incompetent bunch.  We will be at the King's Head on Tues.

Went there for the FA cup game against the arse. Except for 2 middle aged guys, there wasn't one other scouser in there.. nor was there a great atmosphere. The one in the O'Neals on upper street for the barcelona game was well good though.. I'd be more up for something like that?

Personally I'm thinking about heading down to the Sport's Cafe in Haymarket. King's head is closer though.. will the atmosphere be better though?

King's Head could be worth a go Bennyo, and if not move on to O'Neills maybe? It only takes 20 or 30 of us on here to roll up together and get things going.

Sports cafe - i'd worry about a Chelsea crowd on Haymarket.
