I've merged the where to watch the final in London with the earlier London pubs thread. Just to try to keep info in one place. Eventually the pubs mentioned will become part of a UK guide to watching the reds.
Well, I don't know what it is, but there's definitely something going on upstairs

For the SW chaps, I used to go O'Neils (it was our '05 pub followed by pizza in Al Fornos) in Wimbledon (just round the corner from where I live) but have moved this year to the Balham Tup.  It's huge, though it was standing room only on Tues, and the landlord fired up YNWA and Ring of Fire after the game.  If I can't get to Athens, I'll be back there for the final !!!
One pissed up old feller then took it upon himself to clutch each one of us by the face saying "you have to BELIEVE!"  "You know why we are going to win this?"  "Because we are the mighty, mighty, mighty, mighty, fuckin mighty mighty mighty fuckin mighty fuckin mighty mighty mighty mighty mighty mighty Reds!".

This was posted earlier on EST forum - Temple Walkabout on the Embankment (next to Temple Tube Station) holds
950 people in 2 rooms, Flat screen TV's everywhere, plus 3 Projectors + BIG Screens.
Best place in London to watch footy/rugby cricket.
Wicked atmosphere, was there for Rugby World Cup 2003.
(btw cheers is full of eastern Europeans whenever I have been there)

I know the guy who owns the Temple walkabout franchise. We've already had the banter and his view is this -

as many red as as possible (950 capacity) to come down as early as possible, bring loads of flags to get the place drapped in red, admission only to those wearing an LFC red top (as we're playing in red in the final)

I'll second that. Saw Chelsea 2nd leg there and last year's FA Cup Final. Standing room only but plenty of well positioned screens so you can always see. Lots of fellow Redmen there, good atmosphere.

Work in the new office block behind Tate Modern and there's a good few Reds here looking for somewhere to watch the final, this sounds the closest and best option for us.

HOPE AND ANCHOR
CROUCH END / HORNSEY N8

Great pub, proper big screen. Run by Reds with photo's and pendants behind the counter. The landlord cranks up the atmosphere before the really big games by playing YNWA etc before and after the game.
Magic place!

Anyone know of any pubs in Southport that will have a good atmosphere? Notice the Thatch has all Liverpool flags up, but dunno where to head to on 23rd May. Can't be bothered sitting at home on me bill watching us lift No. 6.

Now that our Athens trip is well and truly fucked, i'm sulking my way into London on Wednesday. Depending on the weather, we'll be having a few in Trafalagar square during the day, then looks like we'll head to Walkabout in Temple for late afternoon. Any other proper singers in there would be appreciated, to help us drown out the "fu*k off Chelsea fc" brigade, and make the best of the evening. They'll apparently allow banners etc so should be scope to get a decent enough atmosphere going.

It's a tranny club at the weekends so if anyone has been there since the revamp .....
The Xtra Time Bar/Masque Bar is shut for redevelopment. Don't know about the Tranny bit, but I doubt if it'd be open weekends as they'd probably ladder their tights on all the wreckage...

I moseyed on down there last Wednesday to check cos I was working on a site in Moorgate.

Im working down London this week so looking for advice on where to watch the match. I don't know London that well so need somewhere easy to find.

I know where the Walkabout is down near Temple tube station - is this the best place??

It is a good venue this place: big, loads of bar staff, good views of big screens all round (at least in the big room when i was  there) and if we fill it the atmosphere there will be as good as you'll  find in central London. I'll be heading there for 6.30-ish

Just  phoned the Walkabout and spoke to a bloke there called Simon who says yes, they are showing the game, and no, the door policy isn't red shirts  only: 'Don't know where you got that from mate.'

Still gotta be worth turning up in red though.

I am going straight to the bar mate. In '05 I went to the Extra Time Bar and at 6.30pm it was one in and one out with a big queue ... just got in for kick-off. Taken the afternoon off to avoid such stress this time around!

I think we will be there by around 3pm.

We should aim to takeover a part of the pub for the people who want to sing
rather than everyone spreed over what is a massive pub.

Will keep a look out for all the fellow reds - should be easy to spot by the nervous drinking
