I've got no interest in it because it's in a region of the world that I have no interest in.

I also don't give a shiny shite about the American games or any footy outside Europe.

Because I live here.

Ian Wright is a decent bloke most of the time, but comes out with some shite on occasion.

I really like Wright, but got pissed off when he said criticism of AFCON was racism, it just fuels racists to claim, "ohh everyone just plays the race card nowadays"
https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/ian-wright-afcon-africa-cup-nations-b1984479.html
As I've said before, the Full English is just the base upon which the Scots/Welsh/NI have improved upon. Sorry but the Full English is the worst of the British breakfasts.

Minamino to come on as sub at 0-0 and score a hat-trick would be lovely ;D

Yeah I quite like wrighty, one of the better ones, but don’t really agree with his remarks. I do t think the euros should have gone ahead, just like I think it’s ludicrous that the WC is being played in Dec and shouldn’t be happening, none of that is to do with racism.

Anyway back on topic, just win anyway you can, today is huge with city dropping points.

Exactly, whilst there are some who are looking down at AFCON because they are racist, most of us simply hate the scheduling. If you gave us a vote none of us would want the season disrupted for the corrupt world cup happening later this year either.

Forgot that Zaha is at AFCON.

Good that Eze isn't starting - but Olise has been excellent for them of late (and of course Gallagher)

's a good team that! Love the inclusion of Jones again. Lad has earned it.
Forgot about the Ox(!?). We need that energy and drive in our team today as it will accentuate the urgency and will put a lot of pressure on that backside- along with Firmino central.
Loads of oportunity for the assassin to show up unmarked and put it away, with those two next to him.

As long as clubs are filling any voids with new or old nonsense tournaments for a few quid, all the criticism against euros and Afcon fall flat on the face. I mean, playing home and away in the league cup in the middle of the whole pandemic... Nobody's willing to make any sacrifices

Yep, he'll get plenty of chances to slip in unmarked today.

Exactly how we lined up against Brentford with Jones in midfield and Oxlade-Chamberlain as a wide forward on the right

I suspect you are right.
Despite Ox scoring in that game, I didn't think he was that effective across the game. Would like to see him getting on the ball more and running at them.

Good team, but the continued non-appearance of Joe is concerning me. It makes me wonder if he still has some issues.

wont be so lovely for al of course ;D

benteke on the bench and no zaha. they have edouard, olise and mateta as their front 3. Everybody is following us as the trend setters. No idea what quality they bring but i recall edouard movement and threat causing us some problems.

kelly and clyne on the bench too. quite a ex liverpool contingent they have.

If that's his point then he's dead wrong.

I personally would love the World Cup and the Euros to fuck themselves and stop happening.

I support LFC. The Internationals are just a load of shite to detract from actual football.

They can get to fuck. And that includes Ingerlund.

If he's talking about racism, he should be having a go at Ingerlund fans who are far and away the most racist dickheads I've met. Just look at their behaviour in every game.

Fuck the English football team, fuck the World Cup, fuck the Euros, AFCON, that American shite and get the game back to just club footy.

:)

The reports I read he's complaining about the media's coverage of AFCON. I haven't seen anything which has him accusing people who have no interest in AFCON as being racist. So unless rob can supply the evidence of where he has said that, I suggest we all drop it.

The worry is his issues are ongoing and not for a short period of time.

Good team, hopefully jones can keep up the level he showed against the arse. If he can, then an easy win I think

We can only assume that, as there has been little explanation otherwise.

3 other CB's are playing well so he'll have to wait for his shot like others had to wait when Joe was in the team and playing awesome, not sure the club need to explain it.

Not sure about that; agree with Jill. If he's fully fit and up to speed you'd expect that he'd be getting at least the opportunities Konate has been getting, and gives an opportunity to rotate Matip (or even VVD, after a bad injury) a little more often. At his best, he's certainly better rounded than Konate at this stage and arguably a match for Matip.

The focus now should not be on who the owners are, but limits on what owners can do without formal supporter agreement. At all clubs.
