Long way to come for fuck all for Partey wasn’t it?  Get back in the country at midday after being dumped out of AFCON, comes on for the last 15, gets sent off, dumped out of second competition in 48 hours.

Everton-esque that.

Someone should have told Boris the parteys off

Brilliant, feels like forever since we were in a domestic cup final. Striking masterclass from Jota and our defence barely let them have a sniff.
Absolute, complete, total control... away to Arsenal of all teams- and it wasn't for a lack of effort from Arsenal.
We were just too good and focussed- to a man. From Kelleher down to Neco. Every man did his job to the highest degree of professionalism.

Been a while since I've seen such a competent display and the rare 0-2 scoreline that indicates a classic game of control!
If you're an Arsenal supporter, you must be asking yourself- "What more could we have done!?"
"Some listen to understand. Others listen to respond."
"A fool does not delight in understanding, but only in revealing his own mind."
In such a sumptuous festival of shite, I wouldn't be so quick to pick a winner..

But he'd make the shortlist

Well that was a bit nice eh? What a difference from the first leg, the whole team just felt a bit more balanced and on it. That slo-mo goal was so enjoyable. So, back to Anfield South. Love it, time to give Chelsea a doing over in the final.

As for Arsenal.... dirty, dirty bastards. No wonder they've got the worst disciplinary record in the top flight. Can't for the life of me understand what Arteta was doing putting Partey on either, absolute lunacy.

Anyway, bollocks to them, we're off to Wembley :scarf

Really well player. Great response to that flat 1st leg.

Nice to beat them as they made the whole tie a bit shitty with the FORFEIT bollocks.

Jota took his goals so well. Looks good on the left.
I think the same, can't stand him, but if you could have a £1million pound cheque or steve bruces head hollowed out and filled with pound coins which would you have?

Thought that was one of our best controlling performances of the season.

Fabinho was immense.

Robbo, Trent, Virg, Jota all excellent. Edit + Jones. Knew there was another I wanted to highlight. Konate good too once he came on.

Also a timely reminder of the quality of the ENTIRE squad to those who needed it. 5 goals without reply whilst missing our most dangerous attackers.

Jones had a really good game I thought. He was brilliant in taking on their press with his dribbles and was smart on the ball. Our full-backs were quite good, so was Van Dijk. Matip has been so consistent for a while now, that this was one of his lesser performances. Nevertheless, Fabinho and Hendo did their job well as well, and Bobby was the link as usual. Would have been a dream goal for young Kaide Gordon, but nevertheless, I thought he did well in a big game. That would've helped gain valuable experience.

Say what you want about the league cup, I fucking love finals.

Helps when you have memorable games along the way. Like Stoke away when we last won it and when we got to the final under Rafa we won away at Spurs with a team of babies.

Hopefully lift that trophy now. It will be tough but we'll have the AFCON players. Hopefully Thiago makes it, Elliot as well.

Really strange performance, thought on the one hand we were really poor but the other we didn't really give Arsenal a sniff. At the end of the day the result is all that matters.

Jota is probably performing as well as Mane or Firmino ever have, crazy good signing.

Onto Wembley! Really happy and think at full strength we have a good shot at this.

This helps make up for some of that hurt.

Over the moon with tonight!

Ok thanks. Yes he did look a bit like Bambi on ice at times. Fortunately we now have Konate who can come on and who is as good as Matip.

Man, it was crazy to see them talking about Liverpool there for about 90 seconds. They're back talking about Arsenal now of course but it was great for a few seconds.

What a mature performance of control that was. Frustrating at times I think going forward, we could've had 2 or even 3 more but that's greedy as well. Such a shame for young Gordon with that chance would've been amazing had he scored.

Yes, that was brilliant from us. I thought Arsenal played really well and gave it their best. It was their best team as well, at the Emirates with the crowd behind them and still, we didn't give them a sniff baring a couple of crosses early on the game. It shows how good we can be when we are on our game.

Brilliant performance. Fair play to the boss replacing Konate with Matip at half-time it immediately made a difference as Konate made 3-4 crisp paces straight away and set the tone for our second half performance. I thought Curtis pressing was superb and his all round play excellent. Trent, Robbo and Jota were class, Hendo looked knackered when he came off. Roll on Wembley it’s about time we won this and we owe Chelsea from 2005.

Alan Smith? Ex-Arsenal striker.

I think it was him who claimed that Jota misfit the first and it was lucky. For me Jota did very well and was under pressure. Rule number 1 is to get the shot away and on target which he did. It was a nice goal and was created by Jota’s determination to get a shot on target.

He certainly scuffs the shot, but it looks like he was aiming that side anyway so it would have been a goal even if he’d hit it cleanly because Ramsdale (like Pickford) was guessing which way Jota was going to shoot.
