Yes, but only when I scrolled back to see what you were referring to so my mind was preloaded.

Man U 2 points above par? Which of those 4 teams were they expected to draw against?

West Ham and Wolves. So +4 from those. But drew with Southampton so -2 from that

Checking in for 2021/22. Chelsea are going to be very tough to keep ahead of this season...

Odd to say it but I do think City are only the 4th best side this year. I think we might struggle because of injuries again which I somehow expect to be quite frequent. Utd look very good at winning tight contests. But Chelsea look like they are quite some way ahead.

Didn't city have 10 or 11 points from the same number of games last season as an opener?. Might be a little previous to write them off, much to my chagrin.

By my reckoning, -1, so level with Man Utd, and a point ahead of us.

Please take a look at a previous year's thread and familiarise yourself with the phrases "mockers", "reverse mockers" and of course "double secret mockers".

Now you see there is no such thing as the unmentionable phrases that you have mentioned above. This mention of the unmentionables probably prevented Fabinho from netting a last minute winner. As it is we did enough here to just about scrape a draw.

This is presumably gonna look really good for City, and pretty catastrophic for us albeit over only two games.

All it will show is the size of the task, which is pretty mammoth and how we will probably have to put a huge stretch of wins in a row between now and the end of the season. We knew that anyway.

Amazing how many big games have already been played and we're just seven games into the season. I was thinking last night we've now played both City and Chelsea, so it's good to have that out of the way, but then realised they've also already played each other, and they've both played Spurs and Arsenal already. We're well capable on going on a winning run from here, but both City and Chelsea have even easier fixtures in the coming weeks/months.

On the plus side, Man Utd are fucked. :)

Look at the table on page 1 gives a good illustration. And our run from United until New Year's is tough.

Plenty of par 1s though so we can climb up this table!

Think it makes next 2 must win.

Which will increase us to -2

With the Brentford draw it has not given us much room for manoeuvre

Say we draw at Chelsea and City then they both "drop 2".

Need to just go on another winning streak now

Absolutely no offence to Prof here or the Alt PL Table (it's the thread that made me join the forum and want to post), but people really need to stop reading it so literally.  Whether we are minus 4 or not is purely based on what methodology you use to target points.  For example, I keep my own version of the Alt PL Table with a different target points distribution and we are on 0, with City on +2 and Chelsea on +3, with Utd on -5.

At the moment I'd say that the actual table is a pretty fair reflection of where we are to date, as all 3 of the title challengers have played each other twice.  Now obviously in theory City have the advantage of playing both of us away, and we are the worst of the three in that respect, but points on the board are always preferable to an easier run of games coming up IMO.  We've seen in recent seasons that any team can drop points to any other team in the PL.

At this stage of the season it is far too early to be calling any game 'must win' IMO.  The season will have peaks and troughs, good runs and bad runs, and they'll be points dropped that we curse, and points won which are a bonus.  We're unbeaten, we're scoring goals for fun (which was our main problem last season) and we have a crowd back at Anfield.  Let's see where we all stand after 27 games rather than 7 games before we start declaring games 'must win'.

nuts to think that not that long ago we were well over 100 points for our 38 game running total.
