Is right lad!! Impressive start so far, 1.6 points per game given the fixture list he's had, us, City, Utd, Chelsea and a couple of the better of the rest sides like Leicester and Brighton is damn good going. Not their best performance today but then they deserved to beat Brentford which they lost soooo that's the way it goes sometimes. Their chance to kick on after the break with some kinder fixtures now.

All about Dunken and Everton going to have passion. Stevie knew what was coming and had Villa ready for the slog. Had them not shirking a tackle.

Well in Stevie lar.

I thought he did a job on Everton, especially first half outplaying them. They changed their usual shape to outnumber Everton in midfield and Dunc's 442. Got their lead and then stood up to what Everton threw at them second half.

He hasn't inherited a balanced side as they were Grealish dependent and didn't spend that money well. He left Ings out as you can't really play him and Watkins together, they're the same player. Then he's got to try and make Buendia and Coutinho work which they did yesterday first half.

He'll build a good side there if he's backed in the next few windows. Some good players coming through as well.

Yep- also seen lots of them coming to the same conclusion. They occupy the same space, make the same runs.. so they're not effective together. Watkins and Ings just don't go together and Stevie knows it I'm sure. Sometimes though, he will play them together for a half just as part of game management, I suppose.

Buendia has been a very good signing for them in the Summer though, and Stevie's getting a tune out of him.

Not previously though. Before Gerrard took over, Buendia was thought by Villa fans to be shite. Dean Smith doesn't know how to use Norwich players.

Think he’s got quite lucky to be honest. Villa’s owners have given him a lot longer than many would and unfortunately they are not better than when he joined. I certainly don’t think anybody could’ve talked up a storm if he did get binned.

Yeah RAWK is very easy on the eye and straightforward to navigate, but there's a bunch of features I would love to see on this board; tagging, seeing who quoted you, embedding social media, etc.

Not looking great for him

I must say he’s repeating the same thing every post match press conference. Would be driving me bonkers

Looks very unlike his and our dream will ever happen.

If he could just have got them to not concede 3 in the last 15 mins of last season. That would’ve done! A bit of nouse was needed there

I cannot see how Lijnders would get it anyway, regardless. He’s a Steve McClaren. Seems to be a good training ground presence and can talk a good game but when it comes to the rest of it seems pretty inexperienced. A failed spell at NEC Nijmegen isn’t immediately obvious to take on the challenge when Klopp leaves. It’ll need to be somebody to bridge a gap to an up and comer.

Think the boot room is just people feeling nostalgic. Truth is it doesn’t really exist at top clubs anymore. Arteta is separating himself as one who was an assistant to become manager and make a success of it. I can’t think of many more in recent years. To be a manager you need to have an aura and be able to manage a lot more than devising some training sessions.
