Yep, me to. Don't mind what they are trying to do, just hope it's well organised

Even though it's random, don't you think we should now be taken off the list for any future collections?

Sorry but no - as that could give some an incentive to buy and not go, which if I remember rightly was the club's issue?

Or if they do, they shouldn't announce it! I do get your frustration but we are all going to be selected at some point. This one could be worse, surely?....

Surely it wouldn't be fair if I got selected for say the next 4 pick-up's?

200 tickets out of a 2.5k allocation is about an 8% chance of being pulled. It's about 1 in 25,000 chance you get pulled for the next 4 in a row.

But it doesn't serve it's purpose if you know that because you've been pulled once you're not gonna be in the clear, so to speak, next time.

Well it's all about stopping people from touting tickets isn't it?
If you know that after you've been selected for a pick up it won't happen for say 2-3 matches the whole point is well and truly missed..

Not convinced it will stop it though. I've already heard of tickets in our end going for £400/£500.

you're right it wont stop it at all whilst people can nominate who has the ticket at the outset. Touts will simply sell their ticket before buying it

the only way to stop it is the name on the card is the name of the ticket and randomly pick for collection then. What that will unfortunately do is knacker a lot of loyal followers who have used other peoples cards for years.

a tricky one but what they've done with this process currently is half arsed

No of course it won't stop, but hopefully less will sell them on and more tickets will be sold to fans that actually use the tickets themselves.

I've thought of a system for this

Everyone that buys a ticket gets a credit. Those that go in their own name gets two.
Those that nominate someone else can only do so if they are a season ticket or fancard holder and the person travailing gets a credit to

If they run this system for say two years then state only people travelling on their own card will qualify after that then all the lads that use other peoples cards will have built up their own loyalty so they should qualify but the people that have been passing them on for years would then have to go or throw them in which would leave enough tickets for people that actually travel.

So simple they'll never do it ;D
How much easier it is to be critical than to be correct.

Not a fucking clue. I wish they would fucking make their minds up on this collection shite one way or the other. Porto - Yes then no...City - Yes then no.

Fucking useless

I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve got no option but to collect at the Etihad now, they better not make a bollocks of this as there’s absolutely no margin for error whatsoever

when I bought our 6 tickets I was the Lead Supporter (connected with my account) as noted on the confirmation e-mail with the ticket details.

the club sent the email for collection to the first ticket holder in the booking (I was the 4th) and not me. in the selling details they say the Lead Booker will get the email and must pass on the informations to all the other people in the booking.

Is the Lead Supporter and the Lead Booker the same thing ?

When I collected at anfield some other tickets, we had 4 tickets given out of 6 that were selected to be collected in manchester, lad at the TO said the other 2 must be in the box for collection in manchester and said it should of been me that recieved the email for collection and not the first ticket holder in the booking !

hope there are no problems in manchester and they can sort out these teething problems if they take this collection system further.

Just received 2 e-mails about special deliveries. I imagine that this the order for the 3 tickets that was due for collection (randomly split into two).

1 email from Royal Mail then about 1/2 hour later one email from the club and then a text from the club. Piss up in a brewery springs to mind...

just rang the club up and arranged for collection at Anfield for tickets which were selected for Manchester collection, better than sending the tickets out by SD which is what they are doing if you cant collect at Anfield.

Were very understanding and helpfull on the phone and she said the collection in Manchester had been cancelled for those randomly selected.

non-UK tickets still have to be collected in Manchester as arranged.

If cause it was a retarded idea from the start.. it was after all an idea born in the TO at Anfield.
But surely GMP know this was a bad idea fro the go! Or did the club just ask them yesterday??

GMP may have only made the decision after the first leg. After the coach incident and outrage (some justified, some faux) they are probably concerned about retribution. A queue of visiting fans becomes a target for knobs to throw things at.
