I just hope he gets away from them as soon as possible.

He's a class act and have been treated the opposite.

Rafa to Real would be a terrible choice.

He's not very good at man manging teams/players with egos. You need only look at his time at Inter or Chelsea to see that. Real would be the same: too many chieftans.

He's obviously just thrown the towel in and done this to get sacked rather than have to resign. His reputation has took a massive hit from this, that's for sure.

He's never had the crowd and I doubt he has the players now either.

Two words, Roy Hodgson.

Since when did we not give Hodgson a chance? He had plenty of support when he first signed despite loads of reservation. We were patient with his crap signings and his crap football but we knew it wasn't getting any better. Chelsea fans have been on Rafa's back since his first day in charge. Massive difference.

I have NEVER hoped we lose a game

I have sometimes expected us to lose a game.. but never HOPED that we did
As I'm sure there are chelseas fans who are the same.

They don't like Benitez, we didn't like Hodgson. It's comical how people try and justify one action and ridicule the other. When they are both the same.

Hoping for your team to lose and your manager to be sacked is not what you would call classy by any strecth of the imagination, to be fair.

After the damage his Inter spell did to his reputation and now this its hard to see anybody giving him another chance with a top club.

Although truth in what he said personally I think this is a pretty stupid move by Rafa... Actions like these today, final days at Inter & talking out at the board in his time here put off owners. The long term managers are company men.

Depends if  you want to live your life as Hodgson or whether you define living with some integrity as "stupid".

He's going to get a lot of media attention and grief for saying it and accusations of further "cracking up" but I'm glad he said it. The "fans" there have been disgraceful, don't think I've ever seen a worst set of supporters with regards to being so anti-manager from the start and not letting up.

Anyone who is approached with regards to taking the manager's job won't exactly be heartened by the thought of going there when the fanbase is so vehement and nasty with such a trigger happy owner. Be curious who might be interested now.

I'd be very surprised if he's still at Chelsea this time tomorrow but good on him, the treatment he's gotten from some of those supporters has been disgraceful.  There's only so much abuse one man can take and lesser men than Rafa would have walked after the first game against Man City.  I get they don't like him but there comes a point where you put that aside and support your team.  It was a bad decision on Rafa's part to go there in the first place, I can understand him wanting to get back into football but too much had happened in the past for him to ever be accepted by Chelsea supporters and this was doomed from the start.  Good luck to him, I hope his next club is one where he'll be shown some respect and be allowed to get with his job without being undermined at every opportunity.

If he's still in charge at the weekend it's going to be real fucking ugly.  :(

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2284884/Chelsea-banners-amnesty-leaves-Rafa-Benitez-exposed--Neil-Ashton.html

Hope he gets sacked or walks away in the next few days. He shouldn't have to put up with these c*nts.

That makes it look like he'd lost support from above (board or owner) and they'd okayed the banner decision in order to have the fans show their bile even more publicly than the A4 shite they do now, so as to use it to attack Rafa both in private and indirectly in public.
