Conor Bradley says hello.

He can be Calvin's backup when Trent moves into midfield ;)

Was a bit surprised by how tall he was, having generally only seen him in photos training on his own I thought he was on the shorter side but he looked fairly tall even stood next to VVD and Konate at corners.

He is tall and thats the main thing. Just sign the tall, powerful players.
Slightly off topic, but I did notice that about Napoli - lots of tall, strong lads. Remember Firmino getting bounced off the ball. They still fell over like dominos for some reason.

Yeah - it just felt right didn't it? Big lad too!

Do you feel about Ramsay in a manner similar to how you felt about Robertson?

Obviously too early to say if he will be a huge signing, though based off last night's cameo, he was utterly solid. Looked confident and focused, great 1st appearance.
- all in my opinion of course -

Welcome back Smudge, we've missed your straight talking. But for me....you're not being harsh enough there. Go big.

why do you think the physios haven't let him out in public for so long?

Maybe right back is not the slot for him then.
I say, move him into midfield...

Too early to make any judgements. He needs to bulk up a bit but that will come shortly. Hopefully he will fit in well.

I know this resurrects the Arnold to midfield discussion but if this lad turns out to be as promising as he appears to be then that right had side has the potential to be lethal, Ramsay, Arnold, Salah and Elliot (albeit Elliot is looking good moving slightly inside).

He actually looks like another player who can provide a threat, let's put them both in and they can share the work and keep the other team guessing, other teams do it with great effect.

I'm just glad to see him playing.  With the five subs rule he should, if nothing else, be able to give Trent some respite.

He's tall enough to be a Man Utd centre back.

Hopefully he can do a Robbo but he'll need longer to settle in, Robbo had already bossed it in the PL with Hull, it's a huge jump from the level at Aberdeen and he's younger.

You do get a good feeling with us and Scottish players. Robbo signed at a time when Scotland had been a graveyard for talent for a long time. Since then it's got better and Doak is already ripping up the youth teams.

We've got two really good future prospects in Ramsey and Bradley but do need another RB option now. Ramsey now he's fit will have the chance to do a lot work with the coaches during the break. He's missed a few months really.

Him and Kostas are capable deputies for Trent and Robbo. Both backups are different players with arguably more emphasis on defense, but do the attacking roles quite well. We've been needing that for many years...

Compared to Robbo and Trent - he looks like he has more dribbling skills to escape defenders when on the attack.

He also did a very nice job - albeit Derby - in defense yesterday. Several track back and shielding of the ball or winning it.

Sometimes you see a player and you just know he's got it. Calvin looks a top prospect, not only his ability but his temprement: confident, mature and determined. Of course not every impressive young player makes it, but I think he has every chance.

I agree - it was the same for me the first time I saw Gerrard, Rooney, Owen - you just have a sense he has got something a bit special and knows what he is doing on a football pitch.
