eero Mesh network
« on: November 19, 2021, 12:38:20 pm »
Anyone using this, or something similar?

Got a 500MB connection speed with Sky but the WiFi in my study is fucking awful so thinking of getting an eero 3pack seems they're on offer to try and mitigate some of the interference / general poor signal.

I've got a set of 2 TP Deco, Virgin hub set up as Modem only and speeds are pretty much 200Mb (which is what my plan is) all over our house which is three floors.

Not sure about the differences in quality of the various models and brands but it's been a game-changer for us working at home, would recommend.

Deco also finds the least used frequency in your area which is a lovely feature.

we've got Deco as well, M9 plus, and similar set up to the above post. I've not had to restart it in months, which says everything you need to know I think.

If you've got sky q and a mini box you'll need to put them on ethernet cos the two mesh networks have a battle to the death.

I've got the Google Wifi router which can be used in mesh mode. A single router covers my house and the coverage is excellent - far better than the stock Virgin Superhub (or whatever the fuck it's called) and the cheaper TP-Link router I previously used.

Three pack on offer for £139.99.

It has been replaced recently with the Nest Router. Two pack on offer for £189.

Been running eero for just over a year. It’s been absolutely flawless. Never had to reboot or tinker with the settings, it’s one of those bits of kit that just works. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Not had a chance yet mate, didn’t want to risk messing with the internet before our game yesterday and was out after it last night. Will do it in the morning me thinks.

All set up - took maybe 10 mins to install all 3. Download speeds already jumped from around 7mbs to 120mbs on my Mac when connected to one of the eeros by Ethernet cable.

Cheers for that link too, all nice and simple to log in and turn Wifi off on the Sky router.
