I saw REM on that tour too, and it was easily the worst (and shortest) show I have been to. In their defense, I was absolutely hammered.

For me its more that I'm not a fan of pop full stop.

I love Fleetwood Mac (two female vocalists) I'll listen to Halestorm/Lizzy Hale, Kate Bush, Alanis Morrissette, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Katie Pruitt

I’d never heard that Robyn song until fairly recently but I agree it’s a pop masterpiece.

Comes from a time growing up when people around me would say I hate coons but you're alright. It's probably better these days but not as much as I'd like.

yeh that is an anti-racist song (by a cracking band by the way) but people would twist its meaning so its message got lost

I used to have a mate who was also a Liverpool fan and once watching a game in his house he called one of our players a 'stupid coon'

I always thought it was hilarious they went to China to film a video for a song that went "I don't want your freedom". Pretty sure they got massacred for it in the press at the time too.
