And will be willing and able to pay what is needed to buy a ticket and get there.

Yep. I qualify for the ballot (ST on auto cup scheme) but I cannot justify £1153 for a day trip.

That's the thing, isn't it, the cost is frankly ridiculous. UEFA talk a lot about being inclusive, of a 'football family' mentality, when they're anything but. It's a scandal, but it's also been one for as long as I can remember and I don't see how we change it.

I suspect there will be quite a few saying the same as you, mate, which is a real shame.

I’d expect quite a few who qualify and cant afford to go will be selling their tickets for silly prices.

the ticket prices are already silly mate. I am being asked upwards of 1000 euro for tickets bought for 70 euro from the uefa website. Scandalous.

That’s the flip side of being able to let someone else other than the ST/members card holder use of a ticket isn’t it  :-\

Do we reckon loads will go without tickets? Im considering making the journey just to be in Kiev and watch in a fan zone or something but its a hell of a way to go without a ticket!

Tickets will have the name of the person who originally bought it.  On the basis that they check ID on entry, it would be along way to go and very expensive to get turned away at the ground.

If there are two of you in the ballot and you both book TC trips subject to getting a ticket, what happens if one of you is successful and the other one isn't? Will the successful one get automatically charged for the trip or would you be able to cancel it?

Government website says Euros are easily exchanged over there....some places will exchange sterling.

Bit of an arse getting Euros to then exchange again while there but needs must.

Also warns about cards being cloned.

You’d just have to decide whether or not to buy the one ticket when the ballot sale opens (which I believe is Monday 14th)

Edit: sorry misread, missed the TC bit. You can’t book those trips without a guaranteed ticket I don’t think?

£1000+ all in for a day trip if you're lucky to get a ticket  :o  Even that price for a few days is shocking.

UEFA should think more about the fans when picking a stadium for a final.

Everyone on the ACS plus plenty who have been buying them game by game. 25 - 30k?

About 5000 for the ballot.  Reckon 40000 will have 6 credits.  1 in 8 chance if all eligible apply.

I took this bit:

All bookings will be checked by Liverpool FC and payment will be taken once match ticket eligiability is confirmed.

To mean that you could book a place subject to being successful in the ballot and eligible to buy a ticket.

Probably wrong.

CAMPING UPDATE as per my previous post below.

If you are interested (hell, even if you're not interested at all please help me out and other Reds who are planning on it) please send an email to contact@ukraine-kiev-tour.com registering your interest in camping. The location seems brilliant considering.

They need to reach 100 people interested before considering running it and the guy, who goes by the name of Pavel, tells me there are 25 interested so far. A quote from his email:

"Now I have 25 persons - if we collect 100 - I will send the e-mails to Kiev State Administration with request to open the tent camping.

They requierd at least 100 persons.

If you can help to collect more people - will be great as no accommodation is available in Kiev anymore like hotels and airbnb."

Come on Reds. I want to camp. ALL ROUND THE FIELDS OF TRUKHANIV ISLAND

Supports my ridiculous backup plan of driving over in my campervan!

Am I working this correctly:

16,626 total allocation of which only 63% goes to "us". So 10,747.

5,000 of which will have 7 credits, leaving 5,747 for the ballot?

More than 5000 with 7 credits.  A few who qualified didnt go to Rome.

Just booked on the Thomas Cook flights.

They only take your money if you've got a ticket, and the card isn't charged until the club confirm whether you've got a ticket or not.  Pretty good really.

Sake, wish I’d have realised that before. Wonder if they might put another flight on given how fast that one has gone?

If they can sell it they’ll sort it

Problem they have is that plane may have not sold any given all could miss out on the ballot theoretically !

There may be late availability I’m guessing after the ballot

Yes,

I think RAWK should allow a ticket exchange.  There'll be loads who qualify but can't afford it.  I've got 6 and will be putting myself in, but I wont be going unless if I can get there and back for under £200, which looks possible but not good for someone going by self, then shelling out for all that, it's more likely than not that I wont have a ticket.

Claire, couldn't an exchange be considered as a one off?

I remember the days where the only way to get a ticket for a European final was to travel on an organised trip, they'd hand the ticket out on the train / plain.

Now it's the other war around, you need a ticket to get on the flight.

If you are successful in the ballot but aren't going then don't buy the ticket because it will go to someone on the waiting list who has the credit rather than passing it on to someone who doesn't.

If you manage to sort out getting there and back for £200 you're probably having the sort of luck that would mean you find a ticket when you're out there or some random stranger lets you have one for nothing.

I’ve given up

Original plan was go regardless - had a lovely route sorted with that overnight sleeper train but it sold out day before I went to book

Then had a route planned last night to fly and drive but then saw the ticket price which in my mind Makes it Less likely of any FV spares knocking about

So I’m now down to ballot- see what happens but if I get lucky know I’ll be paying lots but at least it’ll be to watch the match and not just on a screen like I did in Basel

It said sold out when I looked and I kept refreshing the page.  After a few attempts it had them back on sale.

The checkout process is a bit crap and there is a time limit so people are getting chucked out.

Keep trying.
