How can he be ready when he himself expected he would be playing for the Youth sides before stepping up. More likely to be Morgan, I guess.

Maybe this guy and Morgan will stay be in the reserves if we sign someone from the free transfer market.

Just because we didn't sign someone in the transfer window doesn't mean we are relying on this guy. Brend can always dip into the free transfer market if he feels this yesil and Morgan are lacking in experifnce

Ngoo. He's actually good out wide too.

Yesil will play U21 or whatever first. He's had about 9 minutes of first-team football so far. He's played 4 games for Bayer's U23. We need to have a look at him first. Besides, Rodgers seems to value hard work and not only talent, so he'll have to prove himself first, no matter how good he might be.

Especially now with the smaller squad, I think he's nailed on to play in the League Cup for sure and probably maybe even more in Europa than what the initial plan was.

I don't think he'll make the bench straight away. He'll be assessed in the u21/next gen first I reckon.

Does anybody know if he came off the bench against us in pre season? I'm thinking he could be the lad that dived in the box late on?

He was considered one of the bright hopes of German football, and considering the talent they have that is something indeed. However he was not considered ready for competitive first team football yet and just because we fucked up in the transfer market doesn't change that.

The lad himself said he hopes with hard work he can be in the first team in a year or two. Nope not first team material and it shows how desperate some supporters are when they list him as back up to Suarez and Borini.

There isn't much really on youtube about him barring one game against Mexico. Which I agree doesn't make him look all that good in it. So I dont really think we can really go off that. The Leverkusen fans seem to think hes boss though and it would would be interesting to hear a more in depth analysis from one of them about him.

We have only spent £1m on an 18 yera old who has been in the German U'18 setup for 3 years playing 26 times. Bearing in mind that Real Madrid have been mining Germany's better young players for a couple of years as have Bayern and others. Do we honestly believe that we have found a hidden diamond that no-one else has seen. Presumably this has a lot to do with Sami saying there is untapped potential there.

Raheem Stirling is 17 and would sell for probably have sold for £10m if he went yesterday. We are expecting way to much of this guy if we think he can just go into first team squad after only 1 appearance for Leverkusen. I wish the lad all the best but the expectation on here is totally wrong.

It's not the supporters mate it's the club. He is back up to them and so is Morgan.

It all depends on fitness of our front 2. One of them gets injured or start to tire due to heavy schedule, Yesil is our man.

Very apprehensive and excited for him in equal measure.

Everything I've read about him suggests that he isn't that far off, we've thrown 18 year old strikers into the thick off it before and a couple of them did okay. After yesterday I think he's been bumped up the pecking order by a year or two.
Think Rodgers would of wanted to have him have a year in the reserves but it now a case of needs must. Really hope we've found a gem cause I don't think it'll be to long before he's in the first team squad and on the bench.
