RAWK Factor 2011
« on: November 11, 2011, 12:52:43 am »

Welcome to the RAWK X Factor thread 2011.

Following Eileen's superb voice thread, RAWK's drunken Thursday night inhabitants, clearly missing their midweek football, took to their microphones to record some of the finest crooning this website as ever seen (and if you don't believe me, check it out: http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=282840.0 Some star turns from the likes of Eileen, Lady B, Siann and the 5th Benitle).

Following on from this, it was proposed that RAWK host it's own sing-off. In true tongue in cheek style, I'm looking for acappella performances from RAWKs finest or funniest, ideally using Vocaroo or Youtube.

We have sixteen contestants. Each round, they record a song. Everyone can vote on a Poll for their favourite, lowest votes gets booted out. Judges vote if it's a tie.

In true X Factor style we hope to have four mentors to guide RAWK's aspiring talent, help them deal with the pressures of fame, and more importantly to pick awkward and embarrassing songs for them. Our four mentors for this first iteration are:

Frank
Rhi
anywhichwayucan
Hunter Thompson

This iteration has the following contestants:

Mentored by Frank:

bleedsred1978
Gobias Industries
The 5th Benitle
DanJay87

Mentored by Rhi:

Billy The Kid
Chinbits
Lady brandybuck
deadlybuzz

Mentored by anywhichwayucan:

Siann
Andy@Allerton
Fiasco
Finn Solomon

Mentored by Hunter Thompson:

etherealgrace
Y2J
KERRYKOP
Prelude no.5

Winner to be personally presented with a RAWK chequebook and pen by a panel of mods.

Anyone interested in taking part, drop me a PM.

Hmmm..how long does the song have to be?

Unlike normal X Factor, when contestants are forced to abridge and mangle classic songs (while they torture them), feel free to do full length versions if you like.

Already got applications flooding in. I think we can probably do without auditions...

I think first round we should just let people run with it and get involved - after that, if everyone's keen I think a theme is a good way of keeping it fresh!

How do we work out who gets who?

First we'll see how many people want to sing and how many want to be mentors. If we have even numbers of guys / girls I guess we could split them like that. Either that or we could just do it randomly?

Will update the OP with all the information as it gets sorted out.

I demand that the mentors become unnecessarily defensive about their acts.

I'm not going to be asking people how old they are. Some RAWKites may be very sensitive.

Not sure how we'd manage groups!

Random is probably easiest, but am open to suggestions!
