Thank fuck for that. Nigel in his pomp would've knocked him out silly.

I respectfully disagree

Bika is a hard night for anyone at SMW in his pomp. 'Superman' couldn't even seriously dent him. Calzaghe, Ward and Bute had to work hard for their wins

Perhaps mate, I do a bit of disservice to Bika who was never stopped. But Benn would certainly come close to it and make Bika take Paracetamol for a good while.  ;D

I agree, defo getting headache in the morning

I'm seriously wondering if this fight was ever really on. Not heard a bean from Bika, not one word since fight announced

Nigel doesn't need the money, he's also a Pastor now so perhaps he wanted the money for his church or something. But the man is 55 and was out of the ring since 97. That's a VERY long time to be out and get back into boxing training shape and not feel the effects.

Some of the things he was getting up to in those 22 years won't have helped either, at least before he found God.

I went and saw him DJ in a local club in the late nineties and let's just say he wasn't looking after himself...

Glad Benn’s called this fight off. For me he’s up there with anyone at Super Middleweight this country has ever produced. No denying his fitness or that he still packs a punch. But for me he was never the same fighter post Gerald McClellan, physically or mentally. In his hey day he’d have blown away Malinga & Collins like a gust of wind.

Kovalev towers over Canelo, wonder if that and the reach advantage will work in his favour. But then again Canelo is quite stocky and those fierce body shots of his can make anyone whince. Going for Canelo UD.

I think this feels like a miscalculation from Canelo. Kovalev has been a monster on his day.

Think I must be getting old - lead in to this Canelo fight seems to be taken all eternity, even allowing for the odd quick KO in the undercard. Seems to be deliberately delayed for the UFC?

Brutal finish from Canelo in the 11th. Felt for Kovalev, he did well in the fight but just ran out of steam.

I had it level after 10 too but thought Canelo trying to set up the counter cost him a round or two.

His corner were telling him not to throw anything first because the odd time he tried Canelo was all over it with a left hook back. Idea behind his light jabs was to try and stop him gassing in the second half of the fight too.

Wow. Impressive from Canelo. I had him 2 up going into the 11th but can easily see how you could have it the other way.

Can't think of another fighter who has carried 1 punch KO power up so many divisions. I'm going to order some of that Mexican beef he's been eating ;D

Have to admit, the fact that they had Canelo and Kovalev just waiting backstage for UFC 244 to finish was very weird and insulting to the fans who paid to be there. Stupid scheduling by DAZN. UFC 244 was a way better card and had more mainstream attention than this.

I had a few steaks when I was in Cancun, couldn’t through a punch like that afterwards.

I said it a few weeks back there's a reason why Goldenboy wanted Kovalev now. He's been shot since the Ward fights and everyone knows it.  Let's all get onto that "beef" Canelo had as Lusty said.  ;D

Canelo is a convicted cheat; regardless of whatever bullshit his promoters say to cover it up. He is an excellent fighter but this latest win WAS against a shot, aging fighter. I thought the fight was close at the time of the stoppage but shock horror, he was ahead on the scorecards  ::)
