JCB kindly did after before this week's midweek fixtures, but the Man City loss created a bit of a buzz, then the Leicester loss a different buzz, and now it seems ages ago.

I see what the draw felt like for you, mick ;)

I was gutted. I headed off on a short cruise as the game kicked off. Early Mane goal and we were rampant at the start. I disappeared out of Internet range thinking we probably won 3-0.

When I eventually did find out the result- the first people I blamed in my head for that result, were the reverse mocker eejits in here.

To be fair he's invoking the inverse-reverse backwards mockers law.

By predicting an improved result in the past based on a different result for a rival you have to multiply his prediction for the next match by minus one and then divide by the Planck constant. In this case the Planck constant is zero as there are no photons involved, so he's actually predicting a marginal loss.
Certainly a lot of Plancks going on constantly on this site

Whatever happened to the Relegation APLT? Did it move somewhere else?

Did the last one on here for matchday 23 (page 27), plan to do one either tomorrow or Wednesday for Matchday 25 after tonight's game.

Quick nerdy question. What stats software do you use? JMP?

I'm assuming this is directed at me.... Tableau.

Bit worried about tonight. Pellegrini is no mug and Andy Carroll will be up for it. Pleased that Jimmy Milner is available again, we are going to need his experience. Fingers crossed.

It made no difference. Get in.
It kinda does a bit, because we have three par 1s left, City has five. Still in the driving seat though.

Current APLT numbers:

Liverpool: 5
City: -2
Spurs: -4
United: -9
Chelsea: -11
Arsenal: -12

Matchday 26:

Liverpool: 5 Bournmouth (H) (Win 5, Draw 3, Lose 2)
City: -2 Everton (A), Chelsea (H) Par 4 (Win/Win 0, Win & Draw -2, Draw & Draw -4 Draw & Lose -5 Lose & Lose -6)
Spurs: -4 Leicester (H) Par 3 (Win -4, Draw -6, Lose -7)
United: -9 Fulham (A) Par 3 (Win -9, Draw -11, Lose -12)
Chelsea: -11 City (A) Par 1 (Win -9, Draw -11, Lose -12)
Arsenal: -12 Huddersfield (A) Par 3 (Win -12, Draw -14, Lose -15)

So things are still looking rosy on the APLT, even if they don't feel all that great right now. Saying that Bournmouth is a game the reds must be winning with City having the chance to pull back to overall par on the APLT this week. Likewise, they could massively fall off but seeing as the par 1 is Everton you'd expect City to at least get par over the course of their two games. Spurs have a tough par 3 to keep their title credentials alive. United have a very winnable par 3 which will cement them as 4th place and could even put them there on the actual table depending on Chelsea's result. Chelsea need a result at City to stay ahead in the top 4 race and with a midweek off you'd hope they could get something at city. Arsenal must win to keep any chance of a top 4 finish alive, luckily for them they have Huddersfield.

Yes, that, and we have more chances to drop points on par 3s. But the ball is still in our court.

Yes, the assumption is that City, despite actually playing below APLT par for the season so far, are going to win every single game.

I think that's the assumption. But City are on -2. They're not even playing to par, let alone giving an indication that they're suddenly going to rack up +10 points on the APLT in the final third of the season.

The other way of looking at it is that we have easier games left to play than City.

^ sorry if this post puts the double-reverse mockers on our title chances.

Noticed that. They could get themselves into big trouble in the next month. They are currently 500-1 to be relegated......just saying

Could be a good one to back just for the cash out. If they lose 3 or 4 of their next games those odds will be considerably shorter.

You might get your wish... based on points-per-game figures of remaining opponents, Burnley currently have the hardest run-in of any side.

Four tough games to define our season

Tottenham and Chelsea at home

Manchester United and Everton away.

I can only dream that we win all four, if we do?  Probably gets us the title.

3 wins and a draw would also be a very good outcome by my estimation.
