One thing that intrigues me. When they come to remove the existing roof truss in November/December, will this be done by cranes in one piece, or dismantled and then taken down? Not an issue when they did the Main Stand as obviously there was no truss to be removed. Could be a quite challenging operation!

The old roof, truss and the upper tier will be dismantled from the pitch side using mobile cranes. The new roof would be in the way of the large crawler cranes and the extended jib only takes about half the load.

I tried joining a few years ago (about 2013 I think it was ) mainly to argue the toss about one of the ludicrous topics they had it going on there. I can still remember it. It was called, "70,000 seats my arse!". I think it was penned by a right pompous poster called Craig! Was at the ground today and 3 columns of steps have been laid at the top now - so one more column than on the most recent video. Looking at the stand from the car park they were also erecting another grey steel post to support the next column of steps. Looks massive in the flesh and loads of work going on onsite today

Yes, took my car for its MOT on Priory Road at 10pm and that's what I saw from Stanley Park. They were definitely working on a 4tn  column of steps (main stand side)

One thing I did find odd was that the roof truss for the old stand looked bigger (height wise) than the new truss! Supporting a smaller structure I didn't think that would be the case.

On the subject of the roof truss, are they difficult and time consuming to dismantle? or are these things  designed to come apart easily knowing at some point they will need to removed and replaced.

The new roof truss won't be exposed on top of the roof don't know if that has got owt to do with it.

The concept/possibility of a flying taxi is less likely now than it was 50 years ago, in the current world where fossil fuels are being phased out. Look at the design of the high-concept solar or electric planes to see how unlikely it is we even get regular non-fossil aircraft let alone individual ones that can take off and land virtually anywhere.

Great video. Both crawler cranes have extended jibs now - I wonder of the rafter assemblies are being fabricated off site? The first one was built on the supports next to the Main Stand, but no sign of progress there at the moment.

I know there are houses right up against the Centenary side, and the category of road behind the Kop makes it tougher to be closed off, but is there any potential at all for further upgrades?

Would be fantastic to have an 80k stadium complete with single tier kop (one can dream! )

Thats a question I asked Alan..with regards to the rafters, the answer was both… one to be assembled on site and one off site, no proof of this..did you note the new lift shaft ?
