Even if one is State and the others "Private" that still can't work
Newcastle are owned by a private investment fund that's nothing to do with the saudi state mate! SO IT'S ALL FINE REALLY.
3 midfielders minimum in the next window. And probably another young CB to boot.

Anything else is negligent.

Especially if the UK government is fine with the deal. I mean, who needs rules when there's money to be made? ::)

Saudi's saying they could be interested in buying both us and utd

Do they want to buy the entire Premier League now?  :o

I like how their minister in the article says "Private sector" entities.

Nervy days ahead. Especially if Ratcliffe buys United.

It's just a throwaway comment, hardly anything concrete. Just saying of course there'd be interest since they're the biggest clubs in the biggest league in the world. Hardly a shocker

Looks like Ward has decided like his predecessor to leave - probably because their hands are tied in relation to being able to actually do transfers, meaning they don’t really have an exciting job that would challenge/inspire them.  Looks bleak for Jan.

If us or the Mancs end up owned by an oil state, its game over. The existing worldwide fan bases and commercial reach, combined with almost unlimited funds would be unbeatable. There wouldn't be a player we or them couldn't sign.

It shouldn't be allowed. What's needed is rigorous application of financial fair play. But that ship has sailed, and the genie is out of the bottle in terms of state ownership.

If these people are as good at their job as they're being made out to be, then surely you'd expect things to carry on relatively serenely. If you've 'built a team which is considered the best in the country in terms of data driven recruitment' and it all goes to shit when you leave....then its not that good a team.

That’s not how it works - quite frequently there is one main person and the rest just follow their lead. Take that person out the equation and things soon change,

Sadly, there are reports that the Liver Bird may also be leaving.

Apparently, after 121 years, there's a desire to "take a break from football", and a feeling that the entire arrangement "has reached the end of of its shelf life".

Internal discussions have focused on the Dodo as a potential replacement. Although the club insist it's "business as usual" regarding the club badge.

I would not be so sure. Saudi Arabia isn’t a country that really specialises in ideal speculation and putting feelers out in the media. If they talk about something they’ve got a pretty good idea they can get what they want.

The club is all but gone already, but this really would be the coup de grace.

This club prides it self on at least having some connections with its "why", even if keeping that link is increasingly impossible in the modern world.

But this? Can't even pretend any more.

Ive barely watched this season, this will be the end.

Saudi Arabia already own Newcastle. So how does that work? Besides, it says us and the mancs. If I had to pick out of those two I'd say it would be the mancs. Our fan base would be too much trouble for the Saudis, in my opinion.

There’s no need to panic as they loaned in some broken biscuits.
