Two in two matches, past acheivements means fuck all. Why have a good keeper in reserve if he never has a chance to play no matter how badly the first choice does?

reina's rafa's boy.

he'll never drop him.
i don't find the term "liverFOOLS" funny.

nor the term "CESSpool".

nor references to rafa's weight.

mr Tomkins is right but it doesn't excuse Capt Marvellous being Petty Officer Piss today, and bad calls and individual errors all cost us.
But that confidence, slick passing and trust in defence and midfield has gone,.

Bad fucking form. Especially against that shower.

I'm fucking ashamed to be honest

Dudek must be given a chance now

Dont talk such shit. Never feel ashamed to be a red, and Pepe deserves more respect.

who knows what this season has in store for this club of ours? Never, ever lose any hope after three games - that shows a complete lack of character and belief.

I agree with you mate we are clearly not as good as chelsea or mancs

Sadly I agree.

Fast start to this seaon was critical. Man U have learnt this and come out of the blocks flying.

Mind you I don't think our manager is helping at the moment.

Some of the people on here are absolutely full of shit.

Drop Reina.  Fowlers past it.  Rafa needs to pick the same team every week.  Blah de blah de blah.

Now, I'll admit that at times today we were poor, but come on - nowhere near as bad as some of you are trying to make out.  2 of the 3 goals today were down to luck, and as the saying goes - "it evens itself out over the course of a season."

There will be games where WE win by opportunity instead of deserving.  That's the way it goes.

If you insist on going OTT after every defeat or poor performance, then this is going to be one long, long season.

How about you get behind the team, through thick and thin.  Actually SUPPORTING this team of ours, instead of sticking the knife in any chance you get.

You're the same people who when we win our next trophy, will be out with the rest of us proudly declaring your undying love of all things red, including the players you so easily dismiss.

People say that Chelsea supporters have no class, so how about you start showing yours?

If you have any.

Very disapointing to put it incredibly mildly, but our possession and passing was good just our finishing and defending errors cost us. Rafa made some mistakes today in selection, but lets not get to critical. Last year we had a steady team, and thats when we put on our run, perhaps we need to find our best team and then just tinker a little when needed rather than making wholesale changes.

Shameful performance that.

I have to admit that Everton had greater mission and passion in their squad today - we had almost no time on the ball. Every time the attacked a little bit more of my fingernail disappears.

Moan of the Match - Jamie Carragher. Schoolboy error that gifted them the second goal totally knocked the wind off our sails. Even at one down we still had the chance to get something back but at 0 - 2 with 45 minutes to go, against the bitters at home - I knew it was not going to be our day.

Good chances, none went in.

And there it was Pepe's little gift.

We deserved NOTHING from this game.

Oh and now Fowler has got his contract he seems to have rediscovered his Man City form.

Let's be honest he is well past it now.

I though Robbie's movement was good, it's not like he really had any chances fall to him. But Crouch and Robbie have very little mobility as a pair - just compare them to the constant threat Andy Johnson's pace provides Everton.

absolutely poor finishing! bad bad defending. Don't understand how did Carra make it in the starting 11. He just recovered and to be place start into the derby was a bad gamble by RB. DA should have retained his spot based on his steady past performances. It's hard to see Fowler and Crouch together. Don't think it's really a great combination. Lacked pace. Garcia and SG on the wings? Lost of plot today by RB.... spent so long chasing wingers only to not use them in the starting 11... Reina should really be benched for now. He has been really poor since the start of the season. :(

To be honest we could have easily won that game confortably.
But that no way hides the fact we were awful.
I dont want to make scapegoats or knee jerk reactions......BUT

Reina - had little to do, made a hash of the last but it was irrelevant at the time.

Finnan - looked ok
Carragher - awful for 2nd goal but was much beter in 2nd half.
Hyypia - awful. Johnson tore him apart, positioning is his strong suit, it was shite today, i will get stick for this but if we are to progress as a side who want to build attacks form the back he needs to be eased out now by Agger, his use of the ball is atrociuos.
Aurellio - positioning very suspect but got stuck in, needs time.

Garcia - looked bright first half and looked like scoring but faded.
Alonso - simply not fit and is not athletic enough to play when not fit, im still not sure he has the pace for games like that.
Gerrard - energetic, could have had 5 goals bu went mising in the last 20 mins.
Sissoko - immense and showed all his quality, 1st name onm the team sheet regardless of Alonso or Gerrard

Fowler - off the pace for most of game
Crouch - no impact

Subs

Riise - hope he is ok, it looked very bad.
Kuyt - lively, will be glad to see him start
Pennant - needs some games to show his worth.

I will explain the Hyypia comments before i get slaughtered, its not him losing pace as he never had any, its not about him being less of a player, its about the progression of the team and we need to be able to build attacks from the back and Hyypia does not have the distribution or calmness on the ball to do this, if we are to progress Hyypia needs to play a role in the squad similar to what Hamman played last year.

That was fucking bollocks.

Rafa got the starting 11 wrong but it's easy to seay that when we've just lose 3 nul but he did. Crouch should have been rested and Kuyt should have started.

Pennant should have started on the right with Momo and Stevie in the middle.

Carra (although I would have played him) shouldn't have been rushed back when Danny Agger has been doing well.

All in all though he were fucking shit.

Pepe - what the fuck was he doing? Knock the fucking ball over the bar.

Dudek must be given a chance now

Disagree with that though. Pepe is a quality keeper and will counce back.

Defence was shocking . Midfield poor apart from Momo. Gerrard made good runs and was unlucky, but could have done better with his chances.

Up top I felt Robbie and Crouch didn't do too bad but I thought Crouch looked a bit jaded and Fowler saw fuck all of the ball.

Unlucky with Riise's injury. Hope he's ok.

Kuyt looked lively when he came on.

Three points are ESSENTIAL next weekend at Stamford Bridge if we have any sort of title aspirations - the league title is well and truly out of reach if we don't dispatch Chelsea in London.

Agreed.

Oh and that ref Poll was a fucking joke. Wanker.

Call this knee jerk, call it whatever. Feel free to slag me off, at this moment im frustrated and upset - but its our fault and it begins with the manager.

I think Rafa is a great boss, and this summer he's invested very well. But with those purchases, a main worry has arose that i've banged on about for a long while and thats rotation.

Dont tell me that thats the way it is and we have to put up with it, why should we?

Last year we started the season - Rafas rotation policy kicked in and we won one of the first 6 or seven matches and were generally inconsistent. Our great run of unbeaten games up to and through christmas came on the back of of a consistent basis of the first eleven. Now we are back to square one, with different partnerships, different formations already and im fucking sick of it to be honest. Todays 3-0 loss came in the form of many factors. Fair enough 3-0 was harsh and a freaky result but again Rafa couldnt help but tinker could he? A half fit carragher in for an impressive Agger who scored last game - the omittance of Pennant and Bellamy, the accommodation again of Alonso, Gerrard and Sissoko. Its just fucking laughable. And you can bet your life that squad will change for tuesday. Theres no consistency, players dont really know each other, no ones had a chance to put their mark down.

That brings me around to the strikeforce. No Bellamy? Why the fuck not? Foweler was apassanger all game, i mean i love the lad but his best days are gone, Kuyt comes on and looks to make things happen.

In my humble opinion the whole fucking squad - full of talent - is a fucking mess tactically. We need a solid basis bar injuries, we have to pick our best not dependent on opposition but the best eleven we have and stick with it.

Rafas great but sometimes he's too clever for his own good.

Correct. I'll be the first to admit if things are wrong, but let's be fair, it's a derby, and anything goes in that, you simply cannot deduct anything from games like today.

Our finishing lets us down. Sadly I think that is what will get us into trouble this season, since our midfield isn't penetrating enough to rely on a forward like Crouch.

If we outscore any of Chelsea, Arsenal or ManU this season I'll be surprised...

And with that in mind we need the defense to be on their toes. Defensive errors can hurt us badly... They did today.

We looked tired and disorganised, but were bossing the game until Poll fucked up with bad decisions at crucial times. He didn't give Sami the penalty at 0-0, in the same way Chelsea got theirs when being outplayed by Blackburn, and then allowed them to score both of theirs - although not sure Finnan was definitely fouled.  Then at 2-0 with plenty of time left he ignores a blatant handball. Even if we'd been at our best, it was 12 vs 11.

We hit the post twice and ended the game with ten men due to Riise's injury.

To me it looked like Reina was trying to save the corner, as that would mean Everton could kill off the game. The obvious and easy thing was to tip it over, but he wanted to get hold of the ball to start an attack. But a terrible mistake all the same, and should have dealt with shot in first place.

Feeling now: frustrated

The match itself: After watching 4 matches, I think Aurelio is not a good defender. He maybe a good passer, set piece etc but defender he is not. Alot of times because of the uncertainty on the left, Carragher and Hyypia has to cover there. Notice the first goal all 3 of them stuck on the left leaving Finnan to cover in the middle.
