I just feel so desperately sorry for him. He's looking jaded and worn out for a while now. He really needs a break from it all and I think is leaving at just the right time. Just a shame that the team couldn't give him a couple more trophies to win as a fitting send off.

Is it true that Feyenoord want 15m euros? That's a lot for a manager in the Eerste Divisie. How much did United paid for the bald-one?

The Mirror were reporting at the time as being £2.5m. He had a exit clause in his contract and they still had to pay a premium on that because Ajax wouldn't let him go.

We had to pay £5m for Rodgers over a decade ago. Chelsea paid over £20m to get Potter. Sporting had to pay Braga €10m for Amorim.  Buyout fees for managers are less than squad players these days.

The having to watch and hope that city drop points only to be devastated by another late goal/dodgy VAR call now sits with Arsenal, as it did last season to be fair, although Arsenal done what we done this season and imploded last year.

At least we avoid that now, which is absolutely of zero comfort after our recent performances and results.

Some… he hasn’t been as good post injury … but when a player has a consistent level then dips post injury I’m going to injury first before age.

I’d be inclined to do the same.

I doubt we have a player who was playing at a high level before injury, has a long lay off and is poor post injury but age is the determining factor in decline.

Might eventually be true but the most logical explanation is probably around rhythm post injury and struggles across the team.

I’d keep him next season even if it means running down his contract. Senior players could be really helpful transitioning to a new manager. Would be understanding if we sold him and re-invested so it’s not like I’m locked in on keeping him being the only sensible solution. Just my preferred one is to keep.

Didn't Edwards join after Rodgers was gone?

Anyway, ridiculous for Darwin to be the scapegoat here. Not only has the entire team shit the bed, but Darwin isn't even playing the worst out of the forwards. I really, really don't want us to sell him before giving the new manager a shot at him.
I don't want to be mean, but he's the worst out of all three. He can't pass the ball, he can't dribble, he also finds scoring difficult, and he doesn't understand staying onside either.

He can be a very good player on his day, but he has to play for another team. With us you are expected to perform at a certain level every week. You can't just miss incredible opportunities every game. On another mediocre team, he doesn't have to perform every week. I think that's more his level.

His influence on Liverpool's results is great, but I think it is exaggerated. We didn't rise as a club just because of him. And people want
He came to a club that was well organized, that doesn't spend too much and that's why it brings players smarter than others. And we were rarely wrong. Great credit goes to Edwards.
The big thing is that he is back, we should to continue with the transfers as before. Huge spending of money is not a guarantee of success. Edwards has shown quality in this matter, it is important that the club is well organized, that we know who is doing what, that we know the path we are taking and stick to it, and that the new manager does his job.
Tactically, he certainly cannot be worse than Klopp, whose knowledge is almost always based on his assistants. I am sure that the new manager will bring something new and continue on the set path that already exists in this club. We don't need to make too many changes. With 2-3 new players we can be competitive even without Klopp. I see no reason why they should suffer for several seasons after a change of coach. We have a very good team with a lot of players with a winning mentality, we have a well-organized club. That is the most important thing, the system according to which this club woeks and it is irrelevant who the coach is. We have thought too much that Liverpool is exclusively Klopp. He was the right person to raise the club to this level, but it is time for someone else to continue on that path because his best has passed. There is no more energy or adaptation for new standards in football.

I blame Klopp for one thing! He changed us from doubters to believers. But then he convinced us that it is ok to be second, that it is wonderful to participate in the race, to be in the finals, etc. No, it's not nice to be second. It is very painful for all of us. The parade after the defeat in the Champions League final was a big mistake. This club should never celebrate defeats! That's the wrong mentality.

I am sure we will be well and in the race next season for everything!! 3 new players(right players) and we are going to be better than this season, better balanced first of all.

I totally despair.  :o

Yep, I'm defo not looking at Alisson, Virg, Mo, Mac etc etc and being like "3rd would be a massive overachievement for these guys!". 3rd and a trophy is solid, not gonna hate on the season overall but finishing above Tottenham, Villa and co def isn't some giant overachievement.

Think people are misunderstanding the "overachieved" thing. We have overachieved in that this was a transition season where we've had to build a completely new midfield with four new signings and having missed out on 3 of our first choices in these positions. We went through a long spell at the turn of the year missing 9-10 players from every match day squad resulting in kids being thrown in and somehow we still got results. We went to Old Trafford with two 20 year olds in the back line who werent even in the squad at the start of the season, and a back up keeper. So to challenge for the league under those circumstances was an overachievement for this squad at this point in time.

I always felt we had too many young players that needed one more years experience and development. Kelleher (yes he's 25 but hes played so few games overall), Bradley, Quansah, Gravenberch, Szboszlai, Jones, Elliott, Nunez, Gakpo. Some of these have several levels to go up and are going to be huge players for us. Others have big question marks against them now, particularly Dom, Nunez and Gakpo. But we're in a very strong position for the new manager who will certainly have funds to spend. Got to imagine Mo goes this summer and that will provide a chunk of finance along with the wages we'll save from Thiago and Matip and moving on a few squad players, we should have plenty to spend. Replacement for Mo and a quality DM are crucial for us now.

We won 2 trophies that season and a parade takes months to plan.  :wanker

Worth it if he brings the guy who sang at the fall of the Berlin Wall with him.

Sounds like a right hasstle off great proportions

Forgot about this, literally got Macca and Van Dijk telling him where to pass and he loses the ball.

He needs a reset.

Macca goes mental after goal is scored as well...
