Decent finishing...

It's top class. Don't like him, but his finishing in this game has been top class.

This is a luxuary. We can watch a competitive game, with one of our players but we don't have to bother with the result.

Hes one of the best finishers around. Messi is the better player but Ronaldo is a great finisher

Hate him and think hes a selfish egotistical twat, but cant deny he can finish.

Thought Portugal did not play well last night but people on here saying Portugal are overrated need to have a look at their team.

Take Ronaldo out of the equation it's still VERY good players all over the pitch, the thing Portugal really lack (besides Ronaldo) is a finisher, it's been Portugal's issue for about 15 years now, Ronaldo has mostly bailed them on that front but you see it every time he has an off day or is injured and cannot play, Portugal just don't generally produce very good forwards.

Either way, they are still a good team.

As for the fans in Porto, disgrace, look at how so many more of us and Spurs lot was in Madrid and no issues. Fucking Ingurland fans man.

The problem is there's a 3rd/4th playoff on Sunday (why? The European Championship doesn't bother with 3rd/4th place, so why is this tin pot competition having one?) so the Portuguese are stuck with them until then regardless.

The England supporters groups need to actually start self policing rather than standing on the sidelines shrugging or trying to blame others.  It's way past time that certain songs should have been binned off or shouted down.  If they can't police themselves then England ought to start being given no allocation for away games.

Don't know anything really as I've only seen a few videos, but only going on the video clips fans are all stood throwing a lot of bottles at police before anything kicks off. Locals can clearly be heard swearing at the fans so it's clear to see what their take on what happened was. Yes the police don't fuck about over there but don't see how people can't do anything but blame the English fans for this.

Don't care who wins tonight, main thing is avoiding injuries for our players and whoever wins tonight to win in the final as we don't have any senior Portuguese players.

Video here of the England fans situation:

Top comment is a guy who was allegedly there and apparently the England lot were also chanting "there's only one Tommy Robinson" whether that's true or not I dunno but video shows some of it.

Henry Winter has linked these fans to places that have cheap flights and beer (i.e. Amsterdam, Porto) as opposed to more exotic locales like Montenegro. He neglects to address the xenophobic element to it that group of fans. Given Prague is one of England's next friendly locations, this will probably come up again.

Ridiculous really. Two opposing fan bases of English based teams meet in Madrid for an absolutely massive game. Approx 100,000 fans across the two groups and they’re able to mingle and survive in close proximity with next to no trouble.

A few thousand head out to watch England and you get all this.

I watched England's World Cup games in a bar and heard the "Ten German Bombers" chant every ten minutes of every game. In between there was the odd shout of "terrorist" every time the camera showed certain players.

It shouldn't put me off supporting England but it does. I don't want to be affiliated with those people, because unlike club fans they aren't a minority with the national team.

Depressing. Ties in pretty much to where we’re at as a country. The metropolitan areas are pretty liberal and Eurocentric and the rest of the country is clinging to some old tedious narrative about the war and some bollocks us-and-them mentality. Getting rid of that shite band and stopping playing the great escape music would be a good start. Plenty of other things to celebrate as a nation. Let’s sing about the hovercraft or cat’s eyes or something...
